Hansen

About an hour after the panel discussion ended, I finally made my way up to the hotel room, dodging people who begged for a private discussion. It was endless. At least twenty people had stopped me on my way out of the conference room. I typically stopped to chat, offer advice, or greet new people. It was part of my CEO, business-owner gig, and I loved it. But all I could think about was Lucia. The text messages we shared still fresh on my mind.

I exited the elevator on the eighth floor. The corridor seemed to have grown longer since the last time I’d walked down it. I widened my strides, eating away at the long distance until I reached my destination: room 811. I paused before it. How different things had played out. A month ago, I’d thought I’d have my own room. A month ago, I honestly never thought I’d ever get a chance with Lucia, despite all my antics to have her, and hearing what she said on the conference call.

Fuck. I’d felt too giddy, and needed to find my cool, aloof self again. It was hard with Lucia, though. No lie.

The door opened just enough for me to see a sliver of light but nothing else. With anticipation, I pushed against it, opening it wider. Still, it appeared no one was in the room, though Lucia had to have been, as who else would’ve opened the door. I stepped inside the room.

Lucia’s name was at the tip of my tongue, but before I could actually say her name, she came out from behind the door and shut it.

“Are you trying to kill me, woman?” Flashes of heat ran through my body. I didn’t expect her to jump out like that.

“Maybe.” Her voice was smooth and low. She came up to me, though didn’t touch. “We have an hour until the dinner.”

“Hmmm…” I growled deep in my throat. I was immediately hard. “What do you think we should do?”

She bit her lip, making me insane, and lifted her seductive, dark eyes to me. “Two things come to mind.”

My body vibrated with the need to touch her. “I think I know what those two things are.”

“Do you?” She stepped in, only a hair away from me.

Damn. I lost it. In a swift move, I pushed her back against the wall behind the door and crashed my mouth down on hers. She wrapped her arms around me, pulling me closer. We kissed. Teeth gnashing. Tongues swiping. It was messy. It was so damn hot.

She pulled back. “You better decide what you want to do, because we’re running out of time.”

“You’re going to like my decision.”

Twenty minutes later, Lucia was straddled over my face and moaning my name. I held her hips firm against me, breathing in her scent. I couldn’t get enough of her, her taste. Especially when she orgasmed. It was a sight to see.

“Damn, Hansen.” She choked on my name. “I don’t want to say this because, you know, you’re an egomaniac, but you really know how to pleasure a woman with your mouth.”

I guided her off my chin. “Me? Egomaniac?”

“Oh, that’s the part you’re going to get stuck on?” She laughed and moved off the bed. She walked to the settee where she’d laid out a navy dress.

“No, I’m still stuck on being the best you’ve ever had.”

She turned around. Her brows were lifted to the middle of her forehead. “I didn’t say that.”

“Sure, you did.”

She rolled her eyes and turned back to her dress. “No time for games, Hansen. We have a dinner to attend. One that you hijacked.”

So, she was still mad about that. “Graham seemed to like the idea, as I recall.”

I got off the bed and went to the bathroom. After I’d freshened up and changed into a more formal outfit, navy summer suit, I returned to the bedroom. Lucia was quiet. A little too quiet.

“Is something wrong, Lucia? Do you need another O? Because you have unlimited access this week.” I laughed.

“You’re such an asshole, Hansen.” She was fuming.

Okay, so I had really misjudged something. Lucia was salty about the dinner, but I didn’t sense that she was this upset about it until now. I recalled that brief interaction the first day of the conference, and yeah, I totally ambushed her. That wasn’t cool, considering I was using my power and acquaintance with Graham to rub it in her face. But I hadn’t meant it to be cruel, just as another facet to our flirtation, our game we’d played with each other.

“Okay. I get it,” I said.

“Do you really?” In her navy, form-fitting dress, she turned toward the ocean view, her hands rising to temples.
