“Do you want to see it?” she asked, pulling back to look at him. “The game, I mean. It’s still in the early stages, but...”
“I’d love to,” Alex interrupted.
Lena led him to her computer, pulling up the game files. As she walked him through the basic storyline and mechanics, Alex listened intently, asking questions and offering suggestions.
She was in her element, her passion for her work shining through in every word. And Alex was entranced, marveling at the brilliance of his mate, at the way she wove their love into this intricate digital world.
Hours passed as they huddled together over the computer, sharing ideas and stealing kisses. The forgotten takeout grew cold, but neither of them cared. They were lost in a world of their own making, a testament to the power of their bond.
As the night grew late, Alex reluctantly stood to leave. “I should let you get some rest,” he said, brushing a stray lock of hair from Lena’s face. “But I can’t wait to see more of this game. It’s going to be incredible, just like you.”
Lena smiled, her heart full to bursting. “Thank you, Alex. For believing in me, for inspiring me. This game would not be possible without you.”
“We’re a team,” Alex said simply, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. “In love, in life, and apparently, in game design.”
They laughed, the sound echoing through the quiet office. And as Alex left, Lena turned back to her computer, her fingers itching to dive back into the world she was creating.
But now, every line of code, every pixel, held new meaning. It wasn’t just a game anymore. It was a love letter, a tribute to the incredible, impossible, wonderful journey she and Alex were on together.
With renewed energy, Lena lost herself in her work, the hours melting away as she crafted challenges for her hero to overcome, as she designed the twists and turns that would lead him to his ultimate goal - reuniting with his love.
It was a story she knew well, a path she had walked herself. The road hadn’t been easy, fraught with danger and uncertainty. But through it all, the love she shared with Alex had been her guiding light, the force that propelled her forward.
And now, as she poured that love into her game, she felt a sense of pride and purpose, unlike anything she had known. This was more than just her job, more than just a creative outlet. It was a way to share their story with the world, to offer hope and inspiration to anyone who might be facing their own impossible odds.
As the first rays of dawn began to peek through her office window, Lena finally leaned back, a satisfied smile on her face. The basic framework of the game was complete, the heart of the story beating strong and true.
She knew there was still a long way to go, countless hours of refinement and testing ahead. But for now, she allowed herself a moment to revel in the accomplishment, to savor the feeling of creating something born from the depths of her heart.
With a yawn, she got up and went to bed to join her husband. She slipped into the bedroom and immediately removed her clothes.
Alex turned on the lamp on his side of the bed. He was sitting up in bed waiting for her. “Ready for some sleep?”
She grinned. “You should’ve gone to sleep already.”
He shrugged. “I can’t sleep when you’re not near me.”
“The game framework is done. It’s really happening. Can’t wait for you to play it.”
“I’m so proud of you, love.” He raised his brows suggestively. “Now get in this bed so I can have my way with you.”
She took a step back instead. “Maybe I want you to work for it.”
His brows shot up. “Oh, really?”
She giggled the minute a predatory smile spread over his lips. Her heart thudded hard and her sex slickened. “Alex…I’m coming.”
“Oh, yes you are, beautiful.”
He jumped out of bed and had her in his arms in the blink of an eye. Air rushed out of her lungs the moment he picked her up and carried her to bed.
Lena straddled Alex. She pulled his hair through her fingers as she kissed him, savoring his taste. She smoothed her hands over his hard shoulders, enjoying the feel of each perfect muscle. She reached down his arms, strong, perfectly formed biceps that were hard to the touch. She sat back and took him in beneath her—pure, unadulterated male—running her hands down his lean, ripped stomach.
He smiled up at her, obviously enjoying the sight of her appreciating his body. And hell, did she appreciate it. Leaning forward she pressed her lips to his chest before running her hot tongue up to his neck. He moaned and she felt him stiffen beneath her.
Low groans escaped him as she explored his mouth, heating her blood and fueling her want. “Alex,” she said breathlessly as she pulled her mouth away, “I want you so much it hurts.”
“Then let me take away that pain,” he said.
