“Yeah, but I’d never risk anyone hearing me fuck my wife,” I replied.
Molly sighed and buried her face in her hands.
“True,” Whisky conceded before his footsteps faded away.
I snagged one of Molly’s hands, pulling her palm away from her face and placing a kiss against her knuckles. Then I tugged her closer so I could get a taste of her sweet mouth.
“Let’s get this done, baby,” I grunted when I tore my lips from hers. “Before I drag you into the office and risk someone’s death if they hear you scream for me.”
Molly shook her head, her expression exasperated. “Such a caveman.”
“You love it,” I grunted with a smirk.
Her tone was sly when she replied, “Maybe,” while gesturing for me to turn over. Though my chest and arms were full of ink, I’d never found what I wanted for my back, so it was a blank canvas for Molly.
I laughed and released her before flipping over and relaxing on the chair that had folded out flat.
She gathered her things and sat on the stool next to me. “Now don’t worry,” she said absently as she worked. “I won’t tell anyone if you cry.”
“Damn, baby. “ I stared in the mirror at the work of art covering my back. “This is…fucking magnificent.”
Arched across the top were the words, “Property of,” just below it was her name, as well as the names of our kids. Underneath that was a detailed sketch that took up the majority of my back. It depicted Molly and I from behind, walking through a field at sunset. Between us was our daughter Luna who she’d drawn her to look about 7 years old, and we each held one of her hands.
On my opposite side, I was holding the hand of our son, Chase who looked to be about five.
I assumed she’d drawn them to look older so that she could add to the picture as we had more kids. My theory seemed even more likely when I saw that she was also grasping the hand of another child on the opposite side.
They weren't well defined…almost as if the image was a placeholder that she would fill in later.
My mind emptied of everything except the sight of that third child.
Spinning around, I snaked an arm around Molly’s waist and hauled her body against mine. “Baby, is there something you need to tell me?”
She grinned and reached into her back pocket, producing a small white stick. I took it and grinned when I saw the two pink lines.
“You’re giving me another baby?”
Molly beamed at me, and her eyes looked a little glassy when she nodded.
I let out a whoop of joy and spun her once around before planting a deep, passionate kiss on her lips.
When I lifted my head, I stared into her heated eyes and muttered, “We need to get the fuck out of here.”
I yanked back the privacy curtain and swept my wife up into my arms before stalking toward the front. Stopping at the door, I grinned and yelled, “We’re fucking pregnant!”.
Then I took Molly home, and since our kids were with Fox and Dahlia, we celebrated…several times.
EPILOGUE
MOLLY
The birthday parties we threw for our children had always been more than a little over the top, probably because of the nostalgia since that was how Maverick and I had met. But this one was a little wild, even for us.
“Having fun, princess?” Maverick asked, coming up behind me and pulling my back against his chest as he wrapped his arm around my stomach.
“How could I not be?” I gestured toward all of the party rentals surrounding us. “We have bounce houses galore, cotton candy, shaved ice with a million flavor options, a taco truck, an entire petting zoo, and carnival games. There’s something for everyone.”
He chuckled, his breath hot against my neck and sending a shiver down my spine. “I probably should’ve forced Chase to make up his mind when he tossed out so many ideas for his party. It’s a literal zoo around here.”
