Vinnie nodded. "Consider it an engagement present."
I didn't care what it was. If Katrina was off the streets I would sleep a whole lot better. "I want her."
Vinnie smirked. "I thought you would say that." He held up a satellite phone. "Your guy Malloy wants to speak to you. I already gave him the address of where she is being held. You have my permission for Malloy and four of your men to come into my territory and get her."
I took the phone and held it to my ear. "Malloy."
"Boss."
"You have the address?"
"Yes."
"Vinnie said that you and four of our men can go get her. Once she's in your hands, I want her escorted to Ireland. I will call them and let them know she is coming."
"You don't just want to take care of her here?"
It would be easier, but no.
"I still want to know who hired her initially to take me out. Ireland can get that information for me."
Malloy snorted. "O'Donnell hired her."
My frown was instant. "How do you know that?"
"Ireland called. Seems O'Donnell was overheard arguing with Katrina. He wanted to know why you weren't dead yet. They are dealing with the situation."
"Why would he want to take me out?" I had met the guy like twice. There was no animosity between us that I knew of.
"Seems like he had some crazy idea that if you were gone, Ireland would give him back Queens."
Not a chance in hell.
"Even if I was dead they would never do that. O'Donnell already fucked up so bad he was removed from his position. They are not going to give it back to him."
"You know that and I know that, but O'Donnell is an idiot."
I couldn't argue with that.
"Ireland said that they were going to place him in seclusion. If he doesn't shape up and accept how far he has fallen, they will just end him. He's becoming more of a problem than he is worth."
"Thank you for letting me know, Malloy." His news was some of the best I had heard in days. "Once Katrina arrives in Ireland, give me a call. I want to make sure she gets there and that there are no mistakes. I want this bitch dealt with once and for all."
Knowing that the assassin known as Katrina was off the streets and on her way to face those in charge in Ireland gave me a huge sense of relief.
"I will, sir."
"We should be back by the end of the week. If there are any problems, give me a call, but only if it is something you can't deal with."
"Do you want to wait to sign the peace treaty with Borelli when you get back or do you want me to fax it to you?"
"Leave it on my desk. I'll sign it when I get back."
Once Borelli had learned who Spencer was in relation to his husband, he had been all too eager to sign a treaty between us. I suspected that had to do more with his husband than his desire for peace between us.
I wasn't arguing one way or the other.
"I'll handle everything on my end," Malloy said. "You have enough on your plate."
