“Very,” I sigh. “I didn’t know who else to call for help. I tried to go through ‘proper’ channels but?—”

“Fuck the channels,” Ambrose grunts. “It’s been really quiet around here anyway. We’re happy to help.”

Blowing out a breath, I nod. “Thank you,” I say, my voice threatening to crack. “I’m losing my damn mind.”

“I know. I’ll keep in touch,” Shaw says before the line goes dead.

Forcing in a breath, I close my eyes against the tightness in my chest. Crying won’t help my girl, but I feel so fucking helpless. Swallowing hard, I open my eyes and drag myself to shower and brush my teeth.

Gabriel will be coming back at some point, and I need to talk to him about some things.

I’m not going to tell him about calling Pack Mohan because I want them to be a surprise, however I want to know how his run with fuck face Jasper went. The alpha is hiding behind the ice blue eyes and serial killer look, but I can tell he knows more than he’s saying.

I plan to find out exactly what that is.

The door to the apartment opens four hours later, and I’m on the verge of walking a groove in Gabriel’s carpet from all of the pacing I’ve done. I also cleaned the entire place from top to bottom to siphon off some of this manic feeling.

“Hey,” Gabriel murmurs carefully as he sees me turn.

“Hey yourself,” I growl. He looks gorgeous and sweaty, and it’s hard not to enjoy it. “How was your run?”

“Torture,” he says with a sigh. “Jasper turned training into a trap to see what kind of information he could pull from me.”

I think Wren is on to something. I hope the guys beat the hell out of him. “What did you tell him?” I ask.

Gabriel leans against the door, still winded as he gazes wearily at me. I’m the one with a black eye, so I don’t understand why he’s looking at me like that.

“Gabriel, out with it,” I grunt, rolling my eyes.

“I told him that you and Cerenity were scent matches, though not in so many words,” he explains with a wince.

I mean, it’s not a complete secret since I’ve told Pack Mohan, so I shrug. “Well, at least that’s out there,” I say, surprising him. “I am a walking nightmare, Gabriel. Jasper needs to know that I will never stop looking for her.”

“I know, she’s your other half,” he says with a nod, but the way he says that makes me frown.

Moving forward with a burst of movement that surprises him, I wrap my hand around his neck, pinning him to the door. My pheromones fill the room, making him groan as I show him how much I want him. My lips claim his, devouring him as I kiss him.

“I think you’re confused,” I growl before I kiss him again, my tongue stroking his. My hand tightens, enjoying the way his pulse flutters for me alone. “She’s as much a part of me as you are. I don’t know that I’ve ever said it, but I love you.”

Gabriel’s eyes widen as his breath hitches and then his arms wrap around my neck as he lunges forward to kiss me. The moment is savage, all tongue and teeth, but fucking perfect for us.

“Mine,” I growl as I shove down his running shorts. The last thing I should be thinking about is fucking Gabriel, but this is primal. I need to mark him as mine. “You really think I could walk away from either of you?”

Gabriel opens his mouth to speak, but writhes when my hand spasms around his neck. The entire issue in our relationship has been that he overthinks shit. He pushed me to go to the dating event six years ago because he thought I needed an omega. While he was right, because I met Cerenity, it doesn’t mean I need him any less.

“My turn to speak,” I grunt as his cock bobs up when his shorts hit the ground. “I’ve let you talk for six Goddamn years, Gabe. You pushed me to try dating other people, fuck you even dared me to fuck someone else. I need you to get it through your thick damn head. I don’t need anyone other than you and Cere.”

Pushing down the joggers I’m borrowing that are his, I release my cock. Stroking it as I maintain his gaze, I watch as his eyes hood. Gabriel struggles between staring at my cock and me, making me smirk.

I know exactly how big I am, and the tip of my dick is already red and angry, needing to be knot deep in his ass. I need to prove how much I need my beta before we find my omega. I have an inkling of how much I’m going to have to grovel, while I explain to her that she’s the person she’s been insisting that I hold out for.

Fuck, it’s all such a tangled mess.

Lifting Gabriel’s leg up onto my hip as I hold him against the door with my hand around his throat, I raise my brow.

“No more of your bullshit,” I growl. “I don’t need to fuck a bunch of people in order to know that I love you. I get to love my two best friends, which makes me the luckiest alpha in the world. Do I make myself clear?”

My cock teases his tight asshole as I press against it, making him whimper as I smirk.
