He nodded.“This way to our vehicle.”
She walked nextto him, extending her stride to match his.
The limo waswaiting, and when the alpha opened the door for her, she realizedthat she was just blindly getting into a vehicle with strangers. She glanced back and saw Mark. She dove into the limo.
Haravinverified the address with the driver, and then she sat back andrubbed her temples.
The omegalunged toward her and pressed his nose into her neck. “You smell offear.”
“Yeah. Littlebit. I wasn’t expecting to run into him... ever.”
“An ex-lover?”The alpha looked disapproving.
“No. Ex-dancepartner. Ex-best friend. Ex-guy sleeping with my roommate andtelling everyone he was sleeping with me because Timmins hadn’tbeen confirmed as an omega yet. That kind of ex.”
“Timmins is theomega?”
“Yes, he is.Don’t get me wrong, they are perfect for each other, but he didn’thave to drag me into his affairs in the public eye. My parentsdisowned me because of the affair.”
The omega wasan inch from her and said, “Ouch. You smell good. Likedessert.”
She looked athim, her eyes going hard and emerald. “Do you climb over all betas,or am I special?”
“Oh, with eyeslike that, I think you are very special.”
She blinked, and her eyes were normal. “Sorry, didn’t mean to flash you.”
“You know, Ithink you did.” He tapped her chin.
The alpha wasscowling darkly but didn’t say anything.
The omega layagainst her and cuddled up on the bench seat.
“I am not surethat your alpha will appreciate beta scent on you. It will probablythrow off his groove.”
The omegasnorted. “Nothing throws off his groove.”
She swallowed, and silence was in the vehicle for the additional twelve minutes ittook to get to the house.
The omegablinked. “Are we here?” He rubbed his chin along her shoulder.
“We are here.Ford has asked me to greet you and get you settled.”
The alpha satup in surprise. “You?”
“Housekeeper.Today was my day off.” She eased the omega to a sitting positionand slid toward the door.
The driveropened the door, and she darted past the alpha, who had been tryingto grasp her.
She walked tothe house, nodded to security, opened the door, and inclined herhead. “May I get you a beverage or something to eat?”
The omegasmiled. “Ice cream?”
She nodded.“Bowl or cone?”
“Cone, please. One for him, too. He’s a bit grumpy, but that came with the crown.I am around to lighten him up.”
“Oh, excellent.Chocolate or vanilla?”
