As his essence hit her bloodstream for the very first time, Phoebe felt her orgasm overtake her. But it wasn’t just any orgasm—this was like a freight train running her down. It rushed through her whole body like wildfire and she knew that Sirex was feeling it too because his shafts were swelling inside her and pumping her full of his cream.
“Oh my God—too good! Going to faint!” she thought wildly as the intense pleasure swept through her.
“No, baby—stay with me!” Sirex’s deep growling voice answered. But it wasn’t coming from his mouth—how could it when his fangs were still buried in the side of her neck, injecting essence? No, Phoebe realized—she was hearing his voice inside her head. Which could only mean one thing.
“We’re Bonded!” she gasped out loud. “Oh, Sirex, I love you so much!”
One of Sirex’s muscular arms crept around her waist to hold her steady and she heard his mental voice in her head again.
“Yes, baby—we’re Bonded. And I love you too—never letting you go again!”
Phoebe relaxed back into his firm grip, giving herself completely to the joy that filled her. Finally she had found a man worth submitting to—a man she could love forever.
And she knew that Sirex would love her forever, all because she had encouraged him to give in to his…Darkest Desire.
EPILOGUE
“Well, you look healthy to me. I can’t see any trace of the Breeding Fever left at all.” Liv smiled encouragingly as she nodded at the medical chart in her hands.
“Thanks. I don’t have to worry about it anymore. Sirex took care of it,” Phoebe said, blushing and grinning at the same time.
“Mmm-hmm—I thought he would.” Liv gave her a sly grin. “And I’m guessing the two of you are Bonded now?”
“Yes, we are,” Phoebe admitted. “And I’ve never been happier.”
“Did you remember what you had forgotten, like the Goddess said?” Liv asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yes. I remembered that I told him I love him. And that…I share the same interests he does,” Phoebe said, trying to be delicate.
Liv laughed.
“Translation—you’re both the same brand of kinky.”
Phoebe blushed even harder.
“How did you know?”
“Oh, Sylvan told me a little bit about the planet the two of you visited. He’s my brother-in-law, you know,” Liv told her. “Don’t be embarrassed—as long as it makes both of you happy, who cares what you do in the bedroom?”
“I’m not really embarrassed,” Phoebe protested. “Well, maybe a little. It’s just that Sirex is really, uh, dominant if you know what I mean. And he thought it made him what the Kindred call a ‘Broken One.’”
Liv’s face grew serious.
“Oh yes—that’s the most serious charge you can bring against a Kindred warrior.”
“Yes, I got that.” Phoebe nodded. She couldn’t stop thinking of the way she and Sirex had shared after they bonded—how their thoughts had flowed together like two streams joining the same river.
He had told her about his uncle—how he’d informed Sirex of the details of his birth after his manhood celebration. How he had told him that he must always fight that part of himself—the Scourge part—and never trust himself around a woman.
The thought of the pain and mental anguish her new mate had endured had brought tears to Phoebe’s eyes. She had wrapped her arms around his broad chest and cried for him, shedding tears he had never been able to shed for himself.
“You don’t have to weep for me, sweetheart,” he’d murmured through their link as he stroked her hair and held her close. “I’m all right—I learned to live with the Scourge part of myself.”
“No, you didn’t—you learned to deny it. To push it down!” Phoebe had argued fiercely. “But starting right now, that’s over. You’re going to embrace that side of yourself and I’m going to help you!”
“Hey, Phoebe—where did you go?”
Liv’s voice pulled her back to the present.
