“You are so beautiful,” he whispered, brushing her hair back. James lowered his lips to pepper her jaw line with delicate kisses until he reached her ear and caught the lobe between his teeth with a tug. “Let me show you.”

Her hands threaded through his hair, pulling his mouth to hers. He tasted the sweetness of the chocolate still on her tongue, and groaned.

Cami’s fingertips slipped under his shirt, pushing it up to splay across his ribs. He slanted his mouth, deepening the kiss, wrapping one arm beneath her to lift her into the air and strode toward his bedroom. He placed her on the bed and stepped back to remove his shirt, enjoying the way her eyes darkened and she licked her lips when his tattoos were revealed.

She sat up, stripping off her own top, leaving her in a delicate lace bra that showcased her curves. His mouth went dry, and he reminded himself not to pounce on her like an animal. James wanted to show her how much he loved her. Setting one knee on the bed, he lay her back, kissing his way across her collarbone, relishing how her breath quickened as her golden skin flushed.

Her eyes locked on his, and he saw the vulnerability reflected in the dark depths and hated that he’d ever given her a moment to doubt how much she meant to him. Cami’s gaze fell to the ink on his arm, and her fingernails traced the scales of justice, drawing goosebumps to the surface. He rocked against her, and her eyes fluttered shut for a moment before opening again.

A small, wicked smile lifted her lips even as her hooded eyes watched her fingers trail down to the quote on his ribs and then lower to the Chinese symbols that disappeared beneath his waistband. He hissed as her hand continued lower to wrap around him with a firm stroke, before her fingernails teased along his length.

“Light and dark, right?”

He nodded, not sure he was capable of speech as her skilled fingers continued to rob his brain of oxygen.

She propped herself up on her elbows and pressed a kiss to the symbol of light. He shuddered when her warm tongue traced the curve of the design as her free hand undid his belt and pants. “I’m more interested in the dark right now.” When she looked up at him through her lashes, he had to clench his teeth to keep from losing control.

He seized her hand and pulled it from his pants, ignoring her pout. Swiftly shedding the rest of his clothing, he kicked it to the side. Scooping her under her arms, James lifted her higher on the bed. He hooked the waistband of her leggings and pulled them and her panties down in one movement.

James’s hands trailed up her silken skin and he relished how her breath caught as he circled her belly button. Cami’s gaze caught his.

For a moment, it felt like time stood still and emotion filled his chest. “You are perfection.”

“I’m not.”

“You are to me. I promise that by the time we’re done, you will be screaming that you agree.”

“I’m coming with you.” James adjusted his watch band.

“You don’t have to. I’m sure you have a full schedule.”

James lifted an eyebrow, but when he glimpsed where his stubble had left little red patches on her smooth skin, he smiled. The caveman in him liked the obvious sign she belonged to him, and that put him in a fantastic mood.

“Nope. Turns out that juror had the flu, and he conveniently infected his fellow jurors. I’ve already sent Loretta an email. There's nothing else I couldn't push. Also, did you forget? You don’t have a car.”

The frown that crossed her face meant she had.

“I have to meet Mark for lunch. I’m not sure how he’s going to feel about sharing information in front of you.”

He caught her hand as Cami moved past him, catching the end of her towel with his other and yanked it free.

“James!” she yelped.

As his lips claimed hers, he reached down and cupped her ass. He loved how she instantly melted, her body curving into his. Pulling back, James winked. “He’ll have to deal. Now get dressed. We need to swing by your office before we go.”

“That’s it?” She stood nude in front of him, one hip cocked. “No follow through?”

James was already tugging at his tie as he reached for her again. He was quickly learning that when it came to Cami, he couldn’t say no.

“You look happy this morning.” Gerry grinned at Cami, taking the coffee she offered.

“Shut up.”

“You just missed your friend. He said he couldn’t stay but wanted me to give these to both of you.” Gerry made a face. “Pretty intense guy.”

“I’m surprised he left it.”

“Oh, trust me, the way he said, ‘Make sure they get this.’” Gerry mimicked a menacing voice. “No way I was taking any chances.” He handed over two envelopes.
