Page 99 of See You Again
Cami knew Mark was interested. It seemed stupid to argue about it. James’s hand tightened on the steering wheel, and suddenly Cami wasn’t interested in playing games.
Her hand caught his and pulled it into her lap. She held it in both her hands, rubbing his knuckles, feeling the tension drain from him. She stared at his profile, and he turned to glance at her before returning his eyes to the road.
“The only person I’m interested in seeing what is under this dress is you.”
His nostrils flared as he inhaled. She lifted one hand to stroke down the back of his head, her fingers tangling in the silky hairs there. “I’m not interested in Detective Barlow.”
“I know.” But his shaky exhale gave him away.
Cami peeled open his fingers, placing his hand back on her leg.
“We haven’t talked about what happened with Justin yet,” she hurried to continue when he tensed. “But as far as the world is concerned, you are my boyfriend.”
His fingers flexed on the soft skin of her inner thigh and her breath hitched. James glanced at her again as she lifted her hips slightly to raise her dress. Cami took his hand and slid it higher on her thigh until the side of his palm was nestled against her core. “And if you are my boyfriend, and I hadn’t seen you in a few days…” She arched her back as his fingers pushed aside her thong.
His fingers slicked over her, circling her clit in a slow, steady rhythm. “You are full of surprises, Ms. Messina,” He said before tugging on the sensitive bundle of nerves.
“James,” Cami cried, lifting her hips seeking more friction.
Never in her life had she been so daring. The way she behaved with James was completely out of character. Or, maybe it was exactly who she was. In her everyday life, she was responsible for her business, her mother, herself… With James she could let go of all of it. He made her feel safe, protected… even loved in his way.
Cami knew James was jealous, that he needed the possession over her body and the way only he could make her feel. She reveled in the power she had over him, and that power made her free.
Her hips undulated under his skilled touch, her body coiling tight. Her soft moans filled the car, but when she reached for the obvious bulge in his pants, he removed her hand placing it in her lap.
“No. I want you to come.”
Her head thrashed to the side as he slipped two fingers inside her, stroking relentlessly as his thumb teased her in infuriating circles above. A third finger joined the two, curling forward, and she cried out as stars burst in front of her eyes.
James stroked her gently as she came down from her orgasm, and the trembling subsided. It took her a minute to fully come back to herself and realize that, though the car was still traveling down a highway, there weren’t as many lights. Her unfocused gaze blinked several times trying to get the signs above to come into focus.
“Where are we?
“I took the long way.” James pulled her skirt down.
Did that really just happen?
Her brain felt like it was in a fog.
“We only have about five more minutes.” James said. He shook his head when her gaze fell again to his lap. “Later.”
Cami flipped the visor down and took in the tousled hair reflected back at her. “I’m a mess.”
James looked at her as the lights of the city brightened the car. “You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”
James pulled up to the valet stand of Kip’s new restaurant but held up a hand for the young man to wait. He unclicked his belt and turned to fully face her, one hand lifting to cradle her face.
“There has never been a moment since the first time I saw you, that I didn’t imagine what it would be like to be with you. You are literally a dream come true.” He leaned forward and pressed his lips softly against hers. “And later, when you don’t need lipstick for photographs, I plan on smearing the fuck out of it.”
His hand dropped away, leaving her body on fire and her mouth open. Cami’s heart hammered as James stepped around the valet to help her from the car. His touch sending tingles up her arm.
“Don’t forget to smile,” he murmured, pulling her close as they joined the crowd making its way to the entrance. He interlaced his fingers with hers, but the tiny circles he made with his index finger against the sensitive skin of her palm, sent a cascade of sensation through her body and her brain was melting down.
“Stop,” she hissed. When he gave her a wolfish smile, it was clear the move was intentional.
“I think you like it, or at least, you enjoy it on certain parts of your body,” he whispered into her ear, covering the motion with a tender kiss to her temple.
This man was going to be the death of her.
