Walking over to her I jerked my chin at Raine.

She nodded, then walked over to Tank.

Stepping into Lena’s space, her head tilted back to look up into my eyes.

I asked, “What did he say?”

She shook her head, “It’s not important, Storm.”

I wrapped my hand around the back of her neck, “Lena. You know me. What. Did. He. Fucking. Say?”

She sighed, “He said that I’d had my fun just like my mother and it was time to come home and pay him back for raising me like his own.”

I locked my eyes with hers and said, “If I could bring the bastard back from the dead and kill him again, I’d do it.”

“You didn’t have to do that for me. But I’m glad you did. I won’t have to look over my shoulder for the rest of my life. Thank you, Storm.”

An hour later my girl was her smiling carefree self.

Standing there with a beer in my hand I watched her. She had her head thrown back and was laughing at something Raine had said.

A growl emitted from my throat when she turned and Raine smacked her ass, that was fucking mine, she just didn’t know it yet.

Red was standing there beside me, watching.

The moment he put his hand on my shoulder and looked me in the eyes, I wasn’t sure what was about to come out of his mouth, but I didn’t feel that it was going to be good for me. This kind of thing usually resulted in an ass-kicking.

“I don’t approve of anyone being with my daughter, no one except for me is ever gonna be close; but you, you’re a close second. You break her heart, I’ll stomp your ass and bury you six feet under, President or not. That’s a motherfucking promise.”

Looking at him, I nodded. “Never break her heart, brother. I do, I’ll hand you my own gun to do the job.”

Since he seemed pleased with that, he removed his hand, then took another pull from his own beer.

Just like that, nothing more was said.

And I was glad for it, because not even five seconds later Hippie came barreling into the common room, and yelled, “Pres. We got company. Pigs at the gate.”

I moved then over to Raine and Lena and said, “No matter what, don’t react. Do what they say and hold your tongue. Okay?”

Raine nodded.

Lena looked at me and said, “You do the same. For me. Please.”

Staring down at her I said, “Long as they don’t fuck with you, I will.”

And with that, leaving the shocked look on her face I moved to the middle of the main room and waited.

It didn’t take long.

Cops poured in; their weapons drawn.

A piece of paper was shoved in my face saying they were there executing a search warrant for illegal weapons and drugs.

Shouts for all of us to get on the ground. Hands behind our backs as cuffs were wrapped around our wrists.

We all listened.

But my eyes didn’t move from Lena who was told to drop to her belly.
