“I knew you and his wife would hit it off.”

“Yeah, thanks for that.”

“You're upset about it?”

“No. Maybe.” Tenn let out a frustrated groan. “I feel like I'm going crazy; I'm borderline obsessed with her. After knowing her for a week, I invited her along on my month-long road trip. Who does that?”

“A man who has been miserable in his marriage for the last two and a half years. Look, I did a pretty deep dive into her and her husband. There was a reason I said you needed to tell her; she's perfect for you.”

“Her twin brother is one of my closest friends.” Tenn had to admit he was a little concerned about what would happen to his and Quill’s friendship if his relationship with Quinn didn’t work out.

“I know. And there's a reason you’re friends with him. Just go with it; I also think you're pretty perfect for her, too.”

“When I'm with her, it's all I can do not to throw her over my shoulder like a goddamn caveman and carry her off to my bedroom, and when I'm not, I want to be with her, and then I start questioning what's wrong with me. I'm extremely possessive over her, and I've never been that way.” Tenn admitted. He hadn’t told anyone about his possessive feelings toward Quinn, and it was a relief to get them out.

“Because you were with the wrong woman.”Ron laughed. “Enjoy it and her, stop worrying. I'll go to Atlanta. Book me the ticket.”

“Sure.” Tenn hung up and booked him the ticket. He sent it over his email and said he would get the hotel from Quinn and send it to him. Next, he called the non-emergency line and requested an officer to come take a report of vandalism. When they arrived, he explained what was happening and showed them the camera footage from the previous night.

One of the police officers, who had introduced himself as Officer Calder, let out a low whistle. “Wow. That's quite the breakdown.”

“Yeah.” Tenn nodded and gestured for the cops to follow him upstairs. “She was sobbing and cursing loudly, so I put on my noise-cancelling headphones. I figured she was trying to get me to comfort her since she pretty much sexually assaulted me earlier. According to the security footage from the camera in the hallway, she would throw something, come out and glare at my door, then go back in her room, slam the door, and start sobbing and throwing things again. She did it several times and tried to open my door once, but I had locked it.” He opened Viki's door and stepped back so the officers could enter. They took pictures and said they would write the report and get it to him as soon as possible.

“If you decide to kick her out, call to have us here before you do it. Just to protect your back.” The other officer, Officer Thorton, looked around the room again. “Not to be unprofessional or anything, but this chick is nuts.”

“Thanks. I appreciate that.” Tenn chuckled as he followed them down the stairs. They requested he send them the security footage to make sure there was a clear timeline of her breakdown and handed him their cards. They were chatting outside the door when Quinn pulled up. The cops looked at her as she slowly got out and looked back at Tenn.

“She's the wife of my wife's affair partner, and we've been supporting each other.” He explained, feeling his cheeks heat up as he realized what it looked like.

“Hey, no judgment from us.” Thorton smiled and winked knowingly. “I'd take her support too. Have a good day.” He walked away while Calder gave Tenn an embarrassed look.

“Sorry, he's going through a divorce himself and has become a bit of a man-whore.” He muttered. “Keep in touch.”

Chapter Twenty-One: Lazy Afternoon

Tenn smiled as Quinn walked past the cops, nodding politely at them. “Is everything okay?” she asked anxiously when she reached him.

“Come on; I'll show you.” Tenn stepped back so she could go in and led her into the kitchen, where he had his laptop set up on the table. She sat and watched the videos, frowning when she watched Viki try to get Tenn to go to bed with her. Her mouth dropped open when she collapsed, crying in the kitchen and her antics in her bedroom and hallway.

“You didn't hear her?” Quinn looked up at Tenn as he brought up the video of the bedroom so she could look at it.

“Noise-cancelling earphones.” He explained as he passed her his phone. “I was tired of listening to her sob and curse Joel out.”

When she was done, Quinn leaned back in the chair, dismay all over her face. “I broke her.”

“We all did Flacara. You posted the picture, Joel's response, and how I handled it.” Tenn reached out and brushed her hair back off her face. “I had a good conversation with Deedee, and she gave me some advice on how to handle her going forward and how best to protect myself.” Quinn stood up and hugged him.

“We should end it all early and skip the whole party idea,” she said softly as he put his arms around her, pressing his face into her hair.

“No, I'm looking forward to that.” He smiled as she snuggled into him. “You said I could hold you as long as I wanted.”

“I did. I have a favour to ask though.” Quinn put her chin on his chest and looked up at him, smiling sweetly.

“What's that?” He rubbed his hands up and down her back, loving how right it felt to have her in his arms.

“Can I use your shower? I just got waxed, and I feel a little sticky.” She grinned as Tenn chuckled.

“You're trying to drive me crazy now.” He kissed the top of her head. “Yes, you can shower.”
