“How… how was it?” Drew asked after they’d been quiet for a little while.
“Are you asking for a performance review?” Bas asked.
Drew rolled his eyes.
“Yes. Hand over your star rating.”
Ezra’s sleepy chuckle sounded downright sweet in the otherwise quiet room.
“You two,” Bas said into the darkness of the room. “You two are the best parts of me. And I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else than right here. I kind of figured it would be impossible. But…”
Bas’s voice dropped off.
“But?” Drew asked.
Bas was quiet for a long time before Drew felt him shake his head in the darkness of the room.
Drew didn’t push, but after a little while, Bas grabbed both their hands and pulled them against his chest.
“I’m starting to think the three of us were never impossible. We were always inevitable.”

Bas: I’m bored.
Ezra: What a shame. I’m busy.
Bas: There’s something about that cruel streak you have that just does it for me.
Ezra: Really? You should get that checked out ASAP.
Bas pushed the studio door shut behind him. He heard the lock click before he headed away from the building, butterflies dancing in his stomach and a smile on his face. These days he almost expected to see cartoon birds flying around his head when he looked in the mirror in the morning.
Bas: See, I thought we should analyze the situation first. Come home and be mean to me in person, so we could collect some data.
Ezra: Well, nice. Give the guy sex once, and he turns all kinky on you. Next thing I know you’re going to want me to whip you.
Bas: I cry when I stub my toe, so that would be a no.
For a while, there was no reply from Ezra.
Bas: Let’s go annoy Drew. You know you want to.
Ezra: You’re a very bad influence.
Bas: Meet you in his office?
Ezra: Yeah, yeah. I’m already packing my stuff.

“You’re cute when you concentrate.”
Drew lifted his head and smiled when he saw Bas leaning his shoulder against the doorway. He leaned back in his chair and smiled.
“Am I?”
Bas nodded as he stepped inside.
