“We need to talk about something, Tsvetok15,” she kisses my neck.
She can't control her sex drive because of these damn hormones. “Can it wait? I’ve missed you.”
The old me would have said fuck it, it can wait. “Tsvetok16, no. It can’t wait.” She loosens her legs from my waist and I put her down on her feet. “Has something happened? You sound serious.” The tone of her voice gave away her nervousness.
We sit down on the bed, and I turn to face her. Taking a deep breath, I begin. “Your father is dead, Tsvetok17,” I searched her eyes for any kind of emotion. They just stare back at me. “My mother?” She asks.
“She is alive to my knowledge. Your sister too.” Lina sits there nodding her head, her expression stoic.
After a few moments, she speaks, “Did you make him suffer?” I stare at her, lost for words.
“How…” I cleared my throat, “How did you know it was me that killed him?” She chuckles. “You are wearing different clothes, including shoes, from when you left this morning. You also smell like you showered.”
She leans in and smells me. “Don’t use that soap again. It stinks.”
I can’t believe how desensitized she is to this. I expected her to be upset. She sighed. “I just wish I would have been there to watch the life drain from his face. That I would have been the one to end it. That’s awful of me to say, and Gospodi, pomiluy18,” she crosses herself, “but it's the truth.”
Okay, one part down. Now for the hardest part. “Malyshka19, your sister, was sent off to a boarding school. To purposefully keep her away from you. I will find her and if we need to, she will live here with us. I am so sorry I didn’t tell you when I first found out. But I didn’t want to break your heart so soon after we were married.”
It's not anger that is in her eyes, but sadness. That is honestly worse, I would have much rather her have been angry at me. The tears fall and my heart breaks for her. All I can do is hold her and keep telling her we will find Raisa. She looks up at me with a determined look as her crying fades.
“We need to find my mother. Now.” She gets up and walks across the hall to our room. She returns moments later with a heavy sweater and her bag.
“Let’s go. I don’t want to be out all night looking for her. I would like to come home and end the night with you fucking me into oblivion.”
