As I am riding the wave of ecstasy, he pulls me down onto his chest, raises his hips, and drives into me. It drew my orgasm out with each of his thrusts. Lenya curses underneath me as he fills me, his warm cum leaking out onto us as he draws in and out.

Out of breath, he kisses my ear before whispering, “I will always be here to drag you out of the Hell inside your head, Lina. The only ghost that will haunt you is mine. Believe me when I say this, Tsvetok19, even death won’t keep me from you.”

He places his hand on my stomach. “You two are all that matter to me. I'll do whatever it takes to keep you both safe, even if it means burning the world to the ground.”

I kiss his forehead, and say, “I know, moy lev20. I know.”

We clean up and crawl into bed to get a few hours of sleep before heading out to the school.

We are in the car, driving to the school in Vladimir. The paperwork for Raisa is in my lap. I look out the window and watch the trees. I sigh. “How do I even tell her what has happened? ‘Privet21 baby sister, I’ve come to take you home with me. To live with the sister who killed your mother and her husband who killed your father.’ It sounds insane!” I toss the papers in the backseat.

“We will figure it out, lyubov22. She loves you.”

The three-hour drive gave me plenty of time to think of a way to explain to her what happened. Let’s hope my sister has an open mind! We pull into the car park for the Assumption School for Girls. I reach back and grab all the paperwork. Lenya helps me out of the car and, taking my hand in his, we walk up the steps to the offices.

He opens the door and places his hand on the small of my back, guiding me in. There is a desk to the right of the doors. A nun is sitting behind it, sorting through papers. “Sestra?, Dobryy den'. YA nadeyalsya, chto ty pomozhesh' mne nayti moyu mladshuyu sestru? Yeye zovut Raisa Nikolova23.”

The Sestra smiles as she puts on her glasses and checks the computer. She nods and looks up at me. “Da24, she is here. You are her sister, you say,” checking back the screen, “Kalina Nikolova?”

Of course, they wouldn’t put my married name. “It’s Kalina Nikolovna Igorova, now.” The Sestra25, giving a hard stare, asks, “Can you provide the necessary proof? I cannot just let anyone see the girls.”

“Absolyutno26.” I handed over our marriage certificate, my identification, Raisa's enrollment paperwork, and her birth record.

After looking over the papers, satisfied, she picks up the phone. “Please send Raisa Nikolova to the main office, please. She has family here to see her.” I smile back at Lenya. “Spasibo, Sestra27!” She nods and motions to the bench along the wall.

“You may sit and wait here. It may take her a moment, as she is on the other side of the school.” Ten minutes later, my sister appears through the doors. She stops, eyes wide when she sees us. She sprints across the room into my open arms. “Miss. Nikolova, there is no running in the office. “mne zhal’, Sestra28.”

“When the instructor said I had family here, I assumed it was Mama or Papa. How did you find me?” I take a deep breath, and in a hushed voice, I tell her. “Mama and Papa are gone and won’t be coming back.” She nods, emotionless. “I can’t tell you everything right now, but I will soon. We’ve come here to take you back home with us. Raisa, you’re going to come live with Lenya and me.”

“What? Why?” she questions. “I like this school, Lina. The friends I have made here are amazing, and I can go straight to a postsecondary school. I can get a degree.”

The look on my sister's face is pure joy. She truly loves it here. My heart breaks because I came here to take her home with me, and being the sister I am, I will be leaving her behind.

“This…” my voice quakes, “this is what you want?”

She kisses my cheek and nods yes. “I want an education. To go out into the world and make something of myself. Will you let me stay? I will come home for holidays and breaks.” Her eyes plead with me.

I look over at Lenya, who gets up from the bench. “Where are you going?” I ask him.

“Going to find out from Sestra29 how much this is going to cost me.” He chuckles.

“I haven’t said yes,” I tease.

“Right,” as he walks backward toward the desk, “But you're about to.”

I laugh and shrug my shoulders, knowing he has me on that. My sister throws her arms around me in a hug. “You're going to be a Tetya30,” I tell her. She pulls me away from her. “Ni za chto31!” She squeezes me again.

“Isn’t it funny how God changed our lives? You have a husband and now a baby coming, and I get to stay at this amazing school getting the education I have dreamed of.”

Lenya sorts out the finances and I sit and talk with Raisa a bit longer. After twenty minutes, he walks back over.

“Khorosho32, so we will be back to pick you up for Pascha break in a few weeks. Sounds like a plan?” She nods her head and flings her arms around him. She whispers something in his ear, and he pulls her back and kisses the top of her head.

Raisa turns back to me, giving me one last hug, and kisses my face. Then she is off walking towards the door from which she came.

Lenya grabs my hand and leads us out the door. Back at the car, he pulls me into his arms. “You did the right thing, Tsvetok33. She has a future here, and she is smart to take advantage of it. We’ll pay for however much school she wants. Okay?” He gives me a gentle squeeze as he opens the door for me.

“How about we grab some lunch and head home? I’m sure there is something in the nursery we can get done.” He is right, there is a lot that needs to be done and we only have 30 weeks to do it.
