Chapter 25

After connecting withhis son at the clubhouse and making sure he was looked after, Peer walked toward the door to go over to Roar's house to get Coco.

Rune blocked his path. "Prez wants you to hang around."

"Tell him I don't have time."

Rune lifted his chin, his gaze going behind Peer. "Tell him yourself."

He looked over his shoulder. Roar strode his way and held up his hand.

"Can it wait? I'm going over to your house to get Coco."

"The Fed is out there. I can't have you walking past him to my house. I don’t want any attention directed at Lizzy." Roar walked around him and stood between him and the door. "You're going to have to wait and talk to Coco at the bar tonight. As it is, the agent is going to connect you with Coco staying there and probably keep a closer eye on her, and I don't think you want that."

"Fuck." Peer paced. "I need to talk to her before any more time goes by and she gets angrier over shit I haven't even talked to her about yet. She's not answering her damn phone."

"Brother, she's already angry. I don't know how much more she can get." Roar glanced at his phone. "The bar opens in an hour. Give her time to calm down and then talk to her where you can have some privacy."

He turned and looked at Tyr walking around the room, pushing chairs out of his way. Nita followed his son, making sure he wouldn't find something he shouldn't have. The best thing for Tyr was normalcy, and he had that here at the clubhouse where everyone doted on him.

He strolled over to Tyr and squatted beside him. "I'm going to work. Give me a hug."

Tyr leaned into him. He kissed his son's head.

"Be good." He waited until Tyr toddled off and looked at Nita. "Thanks for watching him."

Nita waved her hand in dismissal. "It's the best part of my day or night."

He dipped his chin and walked out of the clubhouse. In the alley, he lit a cigarette.

His hands shook. He exhaled harshly. Coco had surprised him when he'd finally woke up from his drunk, demanding answers and not giving him a chance to get his thoughts straight enough to discuss everything with her.

He had no recollection of talking about his plans last night. Hell, he couldn’t remember much past the time he lifted the Aquavit to his lips and topped it off with beer.

Kelli had pushed him too far, threatening to take him to court. He hadn't wrapped his head around his plan, putting in safeguards, and making sure he could support his family once he left the states.

Coco had made assumptions. She was wrong.

What he wanted to do would be a change of lifestyle for her. She'd be giving up everything to go with him and Tyr to Norway. He sure in the hell wouldn't leave her behind.

But as a Slag member, he needed to figure out a way to protect his club from any backlash. He needed to know the Bantorus Motorcycle Club member Kelli lived with would not hit the club in response to him going into hiding in some sense of protecting Kelli.

All he could do was bide his time until work started. Then, he'd talk to Coco and straighten out the misunderstanding.

Elling walked over to him. "I heard the news."

"What news?"

"Coco moved out." Elling looked down the alley. "Sorry, man."

"She's not moving out." He crossed his arms. "Soon as I talk to her, she'll come back home."

"That's good." Elling removed a can of snuff from his pocket. "I'm off for the night. Thinking about taking Jackie and checking out the car races at P.I.R. Ever been?"

"Nei." His frustration building, he slapped Elling on the back. "Have fun."

"You..." Like normal, Elling walked off without finishing the sentence.
