Did Kelli want Peer back?

She remembered being witness to all the verbal fights between Peer and Kelli when they were living their rocky relationship. She knew Kelli's tendencies to lose control of her anger and her jealousy issues.

But she'd also caught the sweet moments surrounding Kelli, too. One time at work, Kelli had sat with an eighty-year-old veteran and listened to him regale her with tales of his life, then paid for his meal and beer. Kelli would often tend other stations, helping each server without being asked. She was a hard worker.

While her personality was hard to take at times and made people not trust her, she also would be the one who dealt with the rude and pushy male customers because everyone knew she could handle herself.

Tyr whined, rubbing his eyes. She wet a washcloth and wiped his face.

"Come on, sweet face. I know what you need." She lifted him from the chair and carried him to the bedroom.

After changing his diaper and stripping him of everything but his onesie—which kept Tyr from removing his diaper when he woke up, she laid him down in the crib. He automatically rolled to his tummy. It was as if turning one year old gave him the freedom to sleep how he wanted, and he let them all know he liked his little butt in the air.

She rubbed his back in slow circles, urging him to keep his head down. Putting him to sleep was something she enjoyed and would do whenever she could talk Peer into letting her do the job.

There was something soothing about watching a ball of energy slowly slip off to dreamland that relaxed her. It was the sleep of the innocent, and nothing made her feel more content.

Tyr had that effect on everyone in his life. Even the gruff Norwegian bikers turned soft holding him.

She sighed. Could Tyr give Kelli the calm she needed to come to a place where she could accept Peer being the sole parent in raising him?

All Kelli was asking for was time to get to know her son. She never mentioned wanting to take him away from Peer to her.

Tyr's breathing slowed and grew deeper. Coco removed her hand and stood at the side of the crib to see if he would stir. When he continued to sleep, she glanced over at the camera and made sure it was on. Then she went into the bedroom and carried the monitor into the living room where she could see when Tyr woke up or hear him cry out.

She sat down on the couch and scrolled through her phone, reading the texts Lizzy had sent her when the front door opened and Peer walked in.

He raised his brows. She put her finger to her lips. "He's sleeping."

Nodding, he walked to the couch, bent over, and gave her a kiss before taking the spot next to her and stretching his legs out in front of him.

"Good ride?" she asked, leaning against his side and wrapping her arm around his stomach.

"Ja." He put his arm around her and slouched on the couch. "Have you had time to rest?"

"No, but I'm fine."

"We have to work tonight."

"Yeah, but it's Thursday. It shouldn't be too busy." She slipped her hand under his vest and rubbed his stomach. "Are you hungry?"

"Nei." He let his head fall back. "I have a lot to do. I should call my mom and dad to see if it's okay if we send the boxes to their house instead of the club. The sooner our belongings get there, the better I'll feel. I don't want to go out and buy a bunch of Tyr's shit he'll need if I know we already have everything."

"You haven't asked your parents if we can stay with them yet?"

"They'll let us. If not, we can stay at the clubhouse. I've already spoken to Karl—he's the president of the Mother Chapter—and we're good to go with him."

Her stomach fluttered in nervousness. One part of her was excited to go on a huge adventure to Norway with Peer. The other part of her was scared. She would leave everything familiar behind. Her fear that away from everyone, she wouldn't fit in kept her from telling Lizzy of her plans. She also hadn't called her mom and let her know.

"I have to tell you something, and I don't want you to get mad or freak out." She sat up and took his hand.

"What?"

"Earlier—"

A soft knock came from the door. Peer got up and looked outside.

"Fuck," he muttered, looking at Coco. "Does something you have to tell me refer to Kelli?"
