He groaned against her lips before pulling back. "What do you say we get the hell out of here, go home, and have sex?"

She laughed, kissing him hard. "We can't. We need to work and save all the money we can get before our move."

His gaze warmed, though his scoff came back loud and clear. He wanted her, and that was the best feeling in the world.

"You better get inside. I'm going to check on Tyr, and then I'll come back to work. Go ahead and tell Monica she can take her lunch break when I return." She stepped away.

He pulled her back, kissing her again. Elation filled her, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. She could never get enough of him.

He excited her body, calmed her nerves, and made her look forward to the future. To a future, meshing their lives together and hopefully adding more children to their little family.

Peer sighed loudly and broke the kiss. "I need to get back inside, and you need to calm down."

"I'm calm now," she said.

He leaned back without letting her go and looked at her breasts. "You're wound up, and you won't let me do a damn thing about it out here."

Her amusement burst out of her, and she laughed. "Go on with you, mister."

He walked backward to the door, a little stiff-legged, soaking her in. She stood there, mesmerized by the heat directed at her. He winked before he stepped into the building.

She exhaled and fanned her face, warmer than she'd been when she first stepped outside. Peer had a way of igniting every inch of her.

She strolled across the alley, deep in thought, thinking about Peer, and entered the clubhouse. At least thirty Slag members were lounging around downstairs.

Looking over the whole area, she couldn't find Tyr anywhere. She went into the kitchen. Nita talked with two other women. Tyr wasn't in sight.

She approached the group, touching Nita's arm. "Where's Tyr?"

Nita's brows rose. "Holly has him. She mentioned putting him in the wagon and taking him for a ride."

"Okay, thanks. I'll go look for them." She went back outside and looked up and down the alley.

The one street light on the east end left shadows on the west end. Squinting her eyes, she slowly gazed around the Slag members loitered around the alley.

Her pulse accelerated. Why wasn't she seeing him?

She walked toward the bar, turned, and scanned the length of the alley again. Her breathing came faster. Holly wouldn't take him off the property, would she?

As soon as her worry came forward, panic set in. Holly and Kelli had been friends. What if she took Tyr outside the gate so Kelli could see him? Could take him?

She hurried to the back door, and stepped into the hallway of the bar, yelling Peer's name. Blind to the others rushing toward her, she pushed her way through until she grabbed on to Peer's vest.

"I can't find Tyr." Her wild heartbeat echoed in her ears. "Ho-Holly took him on a wagon ride. I thought she might've taken him in the alley, but I checked, and she's not there. What if...what if she took him to Kelli?"

He grabbed her hand and pulled her into the hallway. Running to keep up with him, she plowed into his back as he halted to open the back door of the bar. Jumping out into the alley, they both stopped and scanned the area.

A sob filled her chest. Tyr nor Holly was anywhere in sight.
