My life had been a sequence of set moves that I orchestrated each day for survival and to stay on top.

Apparently, today would be another test of my ability to remain the assassin world’s apex predator.

With guns loaded and ready, I headed to the door and snatched it open.

Most of the light was out in the hallway, making it almost impossible to see. The person had also released a smoke bomb which layered the space in this deep stinky fog.

Damn it. I can’t smell the person. Which means I can’t track them.

I sneered in annoyance.

Then, a body fell right at my feet.

What the fuck?!

Another one dropped too.

I lowered to them and squinted.

Alright.

It was club security dressed in all black with silver knives jutting out of their chest.

Okay. Not a complete fuck face idiot.

The third body landed on the floor in front of me, and nothing hit harder than a dead man falling to the ground.

It was a sound I could never mistake.

Next, a long whistle rang in the air.

Why the hell did he whistle like that?

When faced with danger, one didn’t go into it, they went from behind. If this assassin were in front of my door, I would get them from an unexpected area.

Instead of racing out into the hallway, I shut the door, rushed to my window, opened it quickly, and climbed outside.

This was why I always stayed on the first floor. I liked several ways to get in and out of a room without anyone knowing.

More shots boomed as I jumped out of the window and hit the ground.

Okay. Okay. Don’t fuck up my favorite spot with your bullets. I would like to come back here one day.

Running toward the building’s back entrance, I gripped my guns in each hand and then checked either side of me, wondering how many people had figured out this island was my new hiding spot.

A few people ran around the place, but it was all island security rushing toward the shooting.

“Eh!” I grabbed the biggest security guy. “Let’s get this asshole from all sides.”

They nodded.

“Ten should go that way.” I pointed to the front of the club and then gestured at several others. “You all come with me.”

Whoever it is, I hope you brought a fucking army. That’s the only way you’re going to get me.

With several men, I got us to the back entrance of the building that lead to the hallway where I knew this idiot would be at.

Another whistle rang in the air.
