Get out of here.

I moved to the left, and with his eyes closed, he moved my way as if his eyes were open.

Huh? How did he do that? How does he know where I am?

Determined to get away from him, I made sure my steps were softer this time and hurried to the right.

His head jerked in that direction. “You're not going to get away from me, my sweet wildcat. You smell too good.”

Panic clawed up my throat.

No way. He’s tracking my fucking scent.

I had to move, had to run.

But where?

The night was thick around us, a darkness that swallowed up the trees and the ocean beyond.

My heart pounded in my chest as I calculated my next move.

The ocean was behind me.

Meanwhile, Havoc was in the direction of the trees I needed to escape into.

Suddenly, he sniffed the air and then fast he charged my way.

What?!

His hand shot out in an attempt to grab me.

No!

I barely managed to evade him, diving to the side at the last second.

Shit! That’s not fair. How can he do that?!

Havoc fell to the ground, rolled onto his stomach, pushed himself up off the ground, and lifted that nose back up in the air.

Jesus Christ!

In the face of blindness, he’d heightened his senses like some creature of the wild, honing in on his prey with uncanny precision.

For a moment, I believed I had the upper hand. But Havoc moved with an eerie precision, his senses sharp and unfaltering.

What the fuck?!

I trembled and backed up. “This is stupid. We should be working together.”

“That is what I’m saying. Let’s work together.”

“You’re talking about fucking me senseless and I’m talking about getting out of here—”

“That’s incorrect.” He wiped at his eyes, but that clearly hadn’t helped since he kept them shut. “I do not want to fuck you senseless. I want all your senses alert. Ecstasy is a beautiful thing that should be shared.”

“I will never let you fuck me—”
