He stood up and kissed her head before turning to the others. “I’ll be back.”

Walking over to Mike, he earned himself a few curious looks and shy waves from a few children. He waved back hoping he didn’t come across as awkward as he felt.

“Alpha Ryker,” Mike beamed. “How does it feel?”

“Intimidating and awkward. I don’t really know anyone.”

“Shall we change that?” Mike turned to the woman next to him. “This is Lina and Lukas.”

Lina bowed her head slightly. “It’s our pleasure meeting you, Alpha Ryker.”

“Likewise. Kendra told me how much she enjoys spending time with the two of you. Well, mainly Lukas.”

“She loves Lukas more than anything–even Mike,” Lina giggled but added, “But of course no more than you.”

Ryker laughed. “I could live with her loving him more than me.”

Mike softly pulled the other woman closer from where she’d hidden. “Meet Jenevea and your niece Lorena.”

Ryker smiled down at the two, a sense of love and pride building within them as he looked at his new family. “Lovely meeting you two.”

“Same,” she shyly replied.

Lorena only shared her mother’s deep green eyes. Outside of that, she was clearly a Shadow Wolf. Kent was an idiot for not accepting her.

“So, Alpha, already tired of official duties?” Mike teased, clearly trying to break the ice.

Ryker shrugged his shoulders. “I thought it was rude not to introduce myself.”

“And then you chose us. What an honour!”

“Mike!” Lina scolded, giving him a nudge.

“What? Just trying to be friendly here.”

“He’s your alpha!”

“I don’t mind,” Ryker defended. “You’re all my family now, so I think a little teasing is allowed.”

“See! I didn’t do anything wrong.”

Mike took Ryker on a round through the pack, introducing him to a few people. Mike seemed to be a real socialite. There wasn’t a name he didn’t know and he always had a joke ready.

Finally, they approached the nameless man Ryker had seen in the office. “Oh, and you already know Benjamin.”

Benjamin slightly bowed his head. “Alpha.”

Curious, Ryker got straight to the point. “What did you mean when you said it was nice doing business with Kendra?”

“Oh, right at it. I wanna know too,” Mike added.

“Our Luna came to me about a year ago, asking for my help. She promised to make Kent pay for his betrayal in exchange for information.”

“Information on Alpha Vallerian?” Ryker asked.

“Yes.”

“And what were you seeking revenge for?”
