His grunts in her ear churned her stomach. Bile crept up her oesophagus. She could barely hold back a relieved sob when he pulled back. She should’ve known it was too good to be true. He guided her by the hair in his hand, shoving her to her knees. Before she could grasp what was happening, he pushed himself past her lips, a hot and salty slime filling her mouth.

The moment she realised what he’d done, he turned around, buckled his belt, and walked out the front door. No longer able to restrain herself, she threw up and collapsed on the floor.

Her eyes closed and her body shivered uncontrollably, she stayed curled up in a foetal position. She wasn’t sure how long she laid there, but eventually the sunlight began to peer through the windows.

She only moved once she heard movement upstairs, meaning the twins were awake. She still couldn’t fathom what had happened but one thing she knew for sure: she couldn’t tell anyone. It would only make her more of a target.

She quickly wiped her tears and cleaned her vomit, ignoring the burning between her thighs and the pain radiating from her wrists. She rushed downstairs and grabbed a hoodie, making sure her wrists were covered.

Upstairs, she finished cleaning the living room and started on breakfast.

She pulled out the baking sheets and cut out dough to roll Asher’s favourite croissants with cinnamon and apple filling. Isaiah always demanded pancakes with vanilla and maple syrup. High pitched laughter from upstairs made her cringe and quickly pull out everything for a fruit smoothie for Larissa. Everyone would want freshly brewed coffee so she started that after putting the croissants in the oven.

She kept herself busy, finding that focusing on the food helped her suppress the events of the night before.

Just as she set everything on the island, the three walked in. Larissa was predictably glued to Asher while Isaiah was the first to grab his plate and large coffee mug. Even so early in the morning they looked so familiar that most wouldn’t be able to keep them apart—but she’d always been able to. Their dirty blond hair messy from their wild night.

“Gosh, can you at least try to look like a normal human being?” Larissa snarled as her eyes ran over Velora’s oversized, stained hoodie and loose pants.

Her comment made the twins chuckle.

“Sorry,” she mumbled and turned her back to them to hide her tears as the memories of Ely’s assault pushed into the forefront of her mind.

She made sure they had everything they needed before taking to their bedrooms. Since Larissa had stayed the night, there couldn’t be any evidence of her in Asher’s room. Velora tossed the condoms before changing the sheets. It smelled like sex and if Alpha Theodore knew about it, he would lose his mind. Isaiah seemed to have had his fun too, though he was more discreet about his escapades than his brother. No girl ever stayed the night, nor did he show any affection to anyone in public.

Tears continued to pour as she kept reliving what Ely had done to her. By the time that she’d finished the twins’ rooms and was able to retreat into her bed, she passed out from sheer exhaustion.

She only woke up again in the late afternoon when she felt Isaiah’s pull on her mind. She’d wanted to shower and clean herself after they’d left in the morning but she’d slept through the whole day. She made sure her wrists were still covered and retied her hair before quickly washing her face in the laundry room sink.

She found them sitting in the living room, sprawled out on the large couch with the sports channel on the TV.

“What took you so long?” Isaiah barked.

“Sorry,” she whispered, her throat dry.

“Mom and Dad will be back soon,” Asher announced without taking his gaze off the screen.

She nodded and took that as her cue to start dinner preparations. As soon as Alpha Theodore stepped through the door, Velora set the table. There was no acknowledgement of her efforts to cook dinner, nor of her existence, so she grabbed the plate she’d set aside for herself and disappeared into her room. It was her safe haven, the only place where she felt comfortable. No one ever came down into the basement, so she was safe from their taunting eyes and nasty tongues.

Before she could retreat completely for the night, she cleaned up the table and kitchen. The twins were still sitting glued to the TV, Alpha Theodore was in his office, and Luna Silvia was upstairs, probably enjoying a hot bubble bath.

Velora craved to take a shower herself but didn’t dare to do so while they were in the house. Changing her clothes and wiping herself down with a wet cloth was all she could do for the evening before she went to bed.

Her dreams were haunted by Ely and the last of his cum running down her throat. She woke up sobbing what felt like a thousand times unable to stray from her nightmares as the pain wracked her body.

Chapter Two

Velora

The days flew by, and Velora made sure to keep her body busy. It helped her to keep her mind far away from being raped—it also helped not to shy away from calling it what it was.

She was only seen or heard by anyone when they called for her. Other than that, she made herself scarce. The fact that Luna Silvia was busy planning for the Goddess’s night was helpful as well. It kept her too busy to pester Velora.

Unlike the movies, werewolves didn’t turn into ugly half beasts on full moons. Rather, they could shift whenever they wanted and turned into gorgeous, enormous wolves. Boys were blessed on the night when Isis, their moon goddess, was closest to them. It was what humans called a Supermoon. Every once in a while, a woman was blessed with her own wolf—but those occasions were rare. The last woman blessed with a wolf had been Kendra of the Shadow Wolves seven years ago.

The day of the celebration was Velora’s busiest day of the year. She spent it in the kitchen, preparing all sorts of dishes and cakes for Luna Silvia to present to the pack. The twins popped in a few times to steal some food, but she ignored them and their teasing as best as she could.

That evening, she watched as the trays vanished, swept away by Luna Silvia’s closest friends.
