“Before you do that, I’ve got something to ask you.”

“Yes?”

“Do you maybe want to move off me before I ask?”

“Nope, I’m perfectly content right here.” She wiggled a little, rubbing her center across my crotch. What a tease.

“Will you be my girlfriend? Officially?”

“Um, yeah? I kind of thought we were already there.”

Squeezing her sides, I smiled. She was now dry humping me, and I wasn’t stopping her. “Okay, fine. How about this? Will you wear my jersey at our game against Southern Collegiate next week?”

I should have started with that because that made her squeal in excitement. “Yes, please! You are going to get two blowjobs for that.”

I couldn’t wait.

She dropped to her knees, giving me one more long, passionate kiss before pulling my shirt over my head. Kissing my chest, she made her way back to my shorts. “Thank you.” She kissed my abs and circled her tongue around my belly button. A move I remembered using on her once or twice.

Closing my eyes, I lay back and let my girlfriend ease my pain.

Epilogue

Protecting the goal, I watched the puck flit between two Southern Collegiate players. Back and forth. The only thing that was important to me at that moment was making sure the puck stayed far away from the back of my net.

Closer. Closer. SoCol’s center was coming for me, and just as he lifted his stick for a slapshot, Cade barged into him, bringing him down. I couldn’t relax for long because their right winger was right there, snatching the puck before Scotty could get anywhere near it and shooting it in my direction.

I dropped, landing on the ice in a split, feeling the puck hit against my pads. I kept it out, but the right winger was beside me now, pushing up into me, trying to force me to move or make a mistake so he could flick the puck over me. Brooks was by my side, pushing their team out of the way.

When the whistle blew, I relaxed for a second while the refs tried to untangle Cade from a SoCol player, which wasn’t going well since he had him in a headlock. Admittedly, I knew I wasn’t Cade’s favorite person rightnow, but he would do anything to ensure the goal was tended.

With the break in play, I took the opportunity to look into the crowd and smiled when I saw Madison sitting in the front row, right next to Todd, who just so happened to be dressed as our mascot, Crushie the polar bear. The poor people behind him had no chance of seeing the game.

Madison blew me a kiss, and I subtly pretended to catch it. Yeah, I’d become a sap for her, but it was the least I could do considering she was out there wearing my jersey tonight.

When the ref finally pulled Cade off the opposing player, Cade skated around my net in an attempt to cool down, but instead, he glared at me, annoyed that he had to step in. Getting back into position, Cade brought two of his gloved fingers to his hockey mask and then pointed them at me, in a gesture that said,“eyes on the game, not my sister.”

Yeah. I remembered.

Cade and I had a way to go before we were besties again, and I couldn’t blame him. I slept with his sister behind his back. I’d betrayed him in a way no other person could, and it wasn’t like he could get rid of me. He lived with me; he trained with me. We were going to Atlanta together, whether he liked it or not. He was going to have to put up with me for a long time, and I was hell-bent on making sure I atoned for my sins. I didn’t care how long it took; I was determined to make us friends again.

When play recommenced, Scotty had snatched the puck and taken it across the ice. I took my eyes off the puck for one second, only to see Henry get boarded by one of the SoCol players. I pointed to him, trying to get the ref’s attention for the illegal body check, but no one was watching me, and that was only amplified when Scotty scored.

4-0.

We were winning this game with ease, but that didn’t mean Henry should take a beating for it. He was quick to get off the board and back into the game, but I wasn’t going to stop watching him. We weren’t best friends, or even friends, for that matter, but he was my teammate, and we looked out for each other.

Within the next few seconds, SoCol attempted to score again, but I blocked it easily. I was on fire tonight, which I put down to wanting to impress Madison and my teammates. There was no denying that my gamehad been poor over the last few weeks because I was trying to keep such a monumental secret. Now that everything was out in the open, I was able to concentrate on what was important. The game. So far tonight, I was proving I was worthy of starting for the Covey Crushers. With eight blocked attempts and only five minutes left in the game, it was my best performance in a while.

Scotty passed the puck to Henry, and SoCol immediately took the opportunity to surround him, stealing the puck with ease. I didn’t have time to see Henry’s reaction because the puck was coming my way. Passing it between each other, there was no way our defense could stop them this time, so it was down to me. When they took a shot, I raised my glove, guessing it was the top left corner, and somehow managed to stop it.

The player threw his stick down, swearing, and just as I was passing the puck to Scotty, I saw it again.

SoCol was charging Henry, and the refs were doing nothing about it. What the hell happened to Henry’s fight from our practice games? As suspected, Coach waited until today to debut him, but that wasn’t doing Henry any favors. He wasn’t playing with his usual cockiness. There was no attack.

Scotty rounded the net, and just as he skated past, I motioned to Henry and then to my eyes. He nodded, getting that I wanted him to watch Henry as he skated toward the puck. The next time Henry was illegally body-checked, Scotty intervened, causing a fight on the ice, which got him ejected from the rest of the game.

With one minute left, we were still up by four, so SoCol decided to swap their goalie out for an extra player, meaning SoCol had a huge advantage against us with Scotty out.
