“See you on Monday.” Gray upnodded me.

“See ya.”

“Bye.” Nick waved. “Text me if you need to,” he added as Gray dragged him away from the bar and toward the front door.

On autopilot, I finished closing down the bar and went to get my bag and sweater so I could head out too.

Like all the bartenders, I wore club clothes at work. The sheer muscle shirt I had on was great for tips, but not so much fun in the chilly night air.

I didn’t feel better, per se, but I felt less burdened. I’d told Nick I’m bi, and nothing bad had happened. Maybe that was a sign that it was time to start telling the other people in my life.

But after I figured out what the hell was going on with Ezra and Wes.

One crisis at a time.

“Sugar break.”

Jett looked up from his phone, his eyes wide with surprise. “Sorry?”

I extended a takeaway cup toward him. “Sugar break. The twins went on a coffee run, and I had them pick up a couple of non-coffee drinks for us.”

“Oh, thanks.” He took the cup with an awkward smile.

“Can I sit?” I motioned to the empty space next to him.

“Yeah.” He sipped his drink as I settled on the dusty floor. “Wow, that’s really good. What is this?”

“White chocolate mocha with cinnamon and a little drizzle of salted caramel.” I raised my cup to him. “It’s my guilty pleasure.”

“My aunts own a coffee shop near Rutherford College,” he mused, a bit of a faraway look in his eyes. “I used to get the weirdest drink orders when I worked there.”

“Yeah, like what?”

He chuckled. “One time a guy came in and asked for coffee flavored coffee. I figured he meant just our regular drip coffee, but I was wrong.”

“What did he mean?”

“He wanted a regular coffee with a shot of espresso in it and a few pumps of the coffee liqueur flavored syrup they have.” He took another sip of his drink. “And we had this one lady who would come in and ask for a half coffee, half steamed milk, and a jigger of lemon juice.”

“Lemon juice?” I grimaced at the idea of mixing milk and lemons together. “Why?”

“It was some cleanse thing, apparently.” He sipped his drink, then licked his lip to get some foam off it.

The move wasn’t sexy or seductive, but that didn’t stop my brain from remembering just how that tongue had felt against my dick.

“Where’s Ezra?” He glanced around.

“He went with Quinn to get his spare generator.”

Jett nodded slowly.

The three of us had been tasked with making and installing the custom cabinetry for a new build we were working on. The rest of the crew was finishing up the flooring on the other side of the house, so it was just the two of us.

“Can I ask where you learned your skills?” I asked.
