I waited for her to fight me, but instead she stood up on her tiptoes, trying to reach my lips. I closed the distance and let her kiss me like this was the first time she’d ever really done so.
“Shower,” I said against her mouth.
She grinned at me and turned around, grabbing my hand, and pulling me into the apartment. I’d just invited her to move in. I should have been terrified. I should have had sense to not just stare at her ass while we walked.
She turned on the dim lights over the shower, leaving the main string dark. She moved to the shower and turned on the water. What had me speechless though was the way she unbuttoned that shirt and dropped it to the floor. The dress stretched over her hips as she pulled it down.
I was mindless around her. She had to undress me before my own wits came back. I grabbed her hand as she circled my cock with it. My pants still caught over my thighs.
“What, you don’t like it?” she asked.
The way she bit her lip, nervous and unsure, was cute.
“Not that I don’t like it, but if you start out here, I’m liable to let the water run cold as I fuck you over the counter.”
I opened the shower door, letting her get under the warm water as I kicked off my pants and socks.
The second I got in, the water ran red, and seconds after that? I had her ankles locked around my waist as I pounded into her like I was trying to convince myself this was all real.
THIRTY-SEVEN

The trillof my phone forced my heavy lids open. Where was that coming from? I reached over to where my nightstand was, but it wasn’t there. I blinked. Right. Cas’s place. Or was it our place? That had my stomach flipping a little, and I couldn’t figure out if it was good or bad. The phone was relentless with getting my attention.
“Hell. I’m coming.”
I was sore, and muscles between my thighs protested as I shifted. Finally, I saw my phone discarded by my shoes.
“Hello?”
“Ms. Klein?”
I swallowed.
“Yes. This is she.”
The female voice was all business.
“Detective Fuller was attacked earlier today. We know you had been on scene with him, and we would like to get a statement from you.”
Before I could come up with an answer, the phone was snatched out of my hand.
“She wasn’t there. But I believe you’ll be interested to know that Ms. Klein has submitted a formal complaint against the detective and will be getting a restraining order.”
Cas hung up.
“I what?”
My mouth watched as I watched him move. The muscles of his back rippled as he turned away.
“The lawyer is already on the restraining order. It was being taken care of before he’d tried to rape you in the elevator.”
“It was?”
He tossed my phone on the small table in his kitchen as he walked around naked. Unless all those tattoos counted.
He turned around, and hell if I didn’t drool. I hadn’t admired him properly. Not even when he’d been at that fight. I’d been so focused on him not getting hurt. Focused on those piercing eyes, I really had missed, well, all that was him.
