I was gonna run right back to my dorm and find that dildo I’d ordered. We’d waited long enough, and I was ready forallthe fucking.

Maddox rubbed his jaw. “But what ifyourroommate notices and starts asking where you’ve been all night?”

I waved that off.

“Pfft. Please. He doesn’t care. He’s a total pothead and in his own world.”

“A pothead, eh? I might need to meet this guy,” Maddox teased. “You can stay. But don’t hog the blankets.”

“I’d never,” I quipped and kissed him again.

“Stop flirting and get your ass moving. Before Dane walks in here.”

“Be prepared,” I added, standing up, suddenly lightheaded. Between the blow job and that gruelling practice, my body was shot. “He’s probably going to want to talk to you. I can’t hide for shit.”

“I’m ready for it.”

I smiled at that, then reached into my stall for my phone and texted Dane a quick ‘I’ll be right out.’ Then I headed off to take the fastest scrub down in history. By the time I was leaving the showers, wrapped only in a towel, Maddox was on his way in. He passed me and yanked on the towel, exposing my ass.

“Get out of here before I change my mind,” Maddox warned, eyeing me up with a heated intensity that had my semi turning hard again. “My room. Three hours.”

I nodded and started walking away, calling out over my shoulder. “You order the pizza. I’ll bring the dildo.”

“Now that’s the kind of studying I’m down for.”

I quickly got dressed and headed out to find Dane standing in the hallway, arms crossed, expression flat.

“Uh, sorry about the delay,” I announced, my face heating.

“Too busy sucking face with Maddox?”

There was no point in denying it. “We talked first.”

“As long as you know what you’re doing.”

I nodded and kept walking. The rink was a ghost town. We passed Coach Banning’s office and even that was empty.

Dane and I headed out of the sports facility and into the cold December air.

“Kay—” Dane started.

“It’s all right, D. Trust me.”

Did I trust myself?

Like Maddox, I didn’t know anything about being a boyfriend. We were both going to stumble around in this relationship until we found out where the hell it was going.

“You better. If this gets out?—”

“It won’t.”

Then I thought about what just happened. My first reaction was,Jesus, I want more. My second was,if anyone caught us, we’d be done.

“We talked it out. We’re not gonna stop seeing each other, and only each other,” I admitted. “He freaked out about the Christmas invite, but that’s normal, right? This is all new to us.”

Dane stopped walking. I turned to face him.

“What?” I asked.
