I kissed her hard and deep and she kissed me back, teaching me that her need was as primal as my own. And I would’ve kept kissing her, would’ve ripped off her clothes and fucked her right there on the kitchen floor had the giggles not reached me fromfaraway.

I wrenched my mouth from Nina’s delicious lips to find my son grinning from ear to ear, watching us. “Daddy lovesHoney.”

Three words directly from him to me. Amazing, not to mention right on.Right on? Hell, but I wasfucked.

“Houston, we have an audience.” Nina giggled, her face flushed, lips glossy as they turned up in a roguish smile. “Better stop, don’t youthink?”

“For now,” I promisedusboth.

Chapter17

Tanner

“Have you seen Nina?” Aiden asked, crossing me in the hallway as I stepped out of my room. “We were supposed to go out for anighthike.”

“Again?” I tried not to glare at him. “Didn’t you go lastnight?”

“She likes it.” Aiden knuckled his beard. “Problem?”

“No problem,” I lied. She’d slept with him for the last four nights and I missed not having her in my bed. Plus, my cock was feeling like the rest of me.Neglected.

Hell, I needed a kick in the ass. I was acting like a jerk. Aiden deserved his time with Nina and, if this was going to work out, I needed to give them space so they could grow theirrelationship.

“Sorry if I’m hogging Nina,” Aiden said. “It’s nice to be with her. You know whatImean?”

Yeah, I knew what hemeant.

“Maybe we could organize a rotation,” Aiden suggested. “Schedule every other night orsomething?”

It wasn’t a bad idea, except that love and lust were hardly ever scripted to personal convenience or militaryprecision.

“At the end of the day it’s up to Nina,” I said. “She’s the one leading thismission.”

“Right.” Aiden didn’t look convinced. “Help me look. Maybe she’s inherroom?”

I followed Aiden across the hall to what had once been the guest room, now officially Nina’s room. The door was cracked open, so he knocked lightly and went right in. I almost ran into his back when he halted at the threshold. I shuffled around him and came to adeadstop.

Nina lay on the bed, partly propped up on a pile of pillows, asleep. She looked very young and pretty. Her luscious little mouth turned up at the ends, as if she was having a good dream. A storybook perched open on her lap. Little Ryan cuddled against her, eyes closed, head leaning on her shoulder, breathing cute kidsnores.

Zar leaned against the wall next to Aiden. It was obvious he’d come in the room only a few moments ago. He looked as shocked as Aiden and I were. Tenderness was not an emotion I recognized easily on Zar’s face, and yet there it was, in the smile that softened his lips and the wonder that widenedhiseyes.

I leaned over and whispered. “Youokay?”

“Yeah,” he whispered back. “Doingrealgood.”

Zar was doing good. Real good. It was news of cataclysmicproportion.

“Give it up guys.” His gaze shifted between me and Aiden and his smile broadened. “She’s taken. She’s not sleeping with any of ustonight.”

Chapter18

Nina

Ryan’s grandmother came to get him at the end of his third day. She was a much nicer version of Laura and I liked her right away. I hated to see Ryan go, not only because he was a sweet kid and I was going to miss him, but because he brought out the best in Zar, including the genuine smile I was beginning to consider a requirement for a good day. Tanner had been right all along. There was a lot more to Zar than met the eye and now I was excited and more determined than ever to get to the bottomofhim.

When I came up from doing my aerial silks, I found the guys huddled around the kitchen counter, engaged in their dailybriefing.

“Oops,” I said as three heads snapped up and focused their high intensity beams on me. “Sorry to interrupt.” I stole into the pantry, grabbed a protein bar and rushed out on my way to the stairs. “See? I’m done and out ofyourhair.”
