“What happened?” Fletcher asked ungently, just as they heard a sharpcrack!

The twins came jogging toward them and Bryn looked furious as he stalked to Everly, then scooped him off of his feet. “I told you we could handle it but you saved us anyways. That was the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen.Youare incredible,” he growled out and captured Everly’s lips for a deep, seeking kiss.

Everly was dizzy and weak, but in a really lovely way when Bryn finally released him. “I just wanted to do my part,” he said sheepishly.

“You certainly did,” Merlin said as he passed his bag to Nox and slid an arm around Everly’s. “I want you to tell me exactlyhowyou did it, in as much detail as you can. You’ve managed to exceed every expectation, to defy everything we know about your species.”

“I’m not sure,” Everly said as they walked and frowned when he realized he hadn’t gone as far and wasn’t as lost as he had believed. He recognized Nox’s townhouse after they came around the second corner. “I remembered everything you all had taught me and it just kind of happened.”

“How remarkable!” Merlin answered, pausing so Nelson could get the front gate for them. “Which of my lessons was it that you found particularly useful? I dare imagine, themostuseful when you were in the thick of it?” he asked excitedly, earning an eye roll from Bryn.

It turned into a yawn as they waited for Nelson to unlock the front door. “It’s late. He can fill us in over breakfast in the morning.”

Everly’s lips twisted as he looked on, wondering where his secret escape had gone awry. “How did you know I was gone? I was so careful and I planned everything just the way you would,” Everly said, causing Nox to make a sympathetic groaning sound.

“You did a great job, buddy, but the code for the alarm is my mom’s birthday. We got a call from the security company because someone had punched in the wrong thing.”

Oh,” Everly said, crestfallen as they climbed the steps. “It isn’t L-O-V-E?”

Nelson paused as he reached to punch in the code, turning to Everly. “Why would you—?” He stopped when Nox bit down on a giggle, pulling Everly close and mussing his hair.

“I’d say we have to protect our sweet Everly at all costs, but it looks like he doesn’t need us anymore. I told him that love was the only right answer. That’s why he did it,” he said and Everly frowned up at Nox.

“That was misleading. You should have said that love and your mother’s birthday are the only right answers.”

Everyone except Everly laughed as they went inside and headed for the stairs. Bryn wound an arm around Everly’s waist, locking them together as they climbed. “I’m never letting you out of my sight again,” he said, his eyes shimmering with love and pride.

“Promise?” Everly asked and he nodded.

“You’re mine. Forever, Everly,” Bryn said, sweeping Everly off his feet and carrying him the rest of the way.

Seventeen

“Oh, no you don’t!” Bryn snatched Everly’s wrist before he could slide out of the bed. The sun had just begun to creep over the horizon but Bryn wasn’t ready to rise yet. At least, not like that. He was hard and itching to bury his bone in Everly’s slick behind before they faced the day and all the questions Merlin and Nox were bound to ask.

“I have to pee! For real this time,” Everly promised when Bryn huffed out a dubious snort.

He released Everly and gave the base of his hard-on a squeeze. “Don’t make me chase you.”

“I won’t!” Everly jumped onto the bed a few minutes later, pouncing on top of Bryn and making him laugh as they rolled.

They kissed as they kicked away the covers, giggling and winding each other up until Everly was on top, straddling Bryn. “Ride me to heaven and back, Ev,” he whispered as he cradled his cheek.

Everly nodded and his smile was beatific as he reached behind him, wiggling until everything was lined up and taking Bryn to the hilt. His teeth dug into his lower lip and his eyes crossed as he set off at a slow, rocking bounce.

“You’re so, so deep, Bryn,” he panted dreamily. His head bobbled loosely, each hop punctuated with the sweetest moan as Everly rode Bryn’s cock.

“That’s right, baby. I’m so deep and you feel so good, so wet.”

Bryn’s shaft was wrapped in slick heat, the lush softness of Everly’s core dripping and getting wetter with each sultry slide. His hands were planted on Bryn’s sternum as his ass slap, slap, slapped and the beat got faster and faster. The room grew warmer as the sun spilled through the window and their strangled swears and gasps filled the air.

Time had practically stopped for Everly and their friends on this side of the veil, but it had been a hard night for Bryn and Arawn after the anti-Everly was defeated. They had searched the Nothing for any lost souls and the run to Annwn and back had been long. It had been Everly andthisthat had given Bryn a boost when he was tired. And he finally understood how Arawn had grown larger and even stronger over the last quarter of a decade.

Why hadn’t Bryn guessed that it was Arawn’s love for Fletcher making him stronger, when so much of their power came from their love for each other? That was why Arawn had encouraged Bryn to findhisother soulmate, so he could start pulling his spectral weight if they ever had to face a serious challenger. They’d had a close call in the Nothing and had almost been outmatched, but Everly had shown everyone just how strong love could be in the face of crushing darkness.

“I love you so much, Ev,” Bryn said, tracing his cheek and dragging a knuckle up Everly’s erection. It twitched and precum flicked from the head as he shivered and hummed in delight. Every soft note a siren’s song, captivating Bryn as Everly grew brighter and dewier above him.

“I love you, Bryn. I love you, I love you, I love you!” He was intoxicating, drugging Bryn as intense pleasure throbbed from his cock, radiating down his limbs and up his spine.
