No, I don’t! I mean I want him, yes, but I don’t want a relationship with him!I had to be firm with myself. I had to keep seeing him as a jerk and a lech who only wanted my body and nothing more and be firm with myself. No more bad boys!

I got up, turned on my bedside light, and sat on the edge of the bed for a long moment, trying to figure out whether I needed a cold shower or a bucket of ice cream and Chris Hemsworth movies, or—

To suck on a cucumber?

Shut up.

“Fuck me.” I sank forward, head in hands. My life was a mess and even though it was the one thing I wasn’t supposed to be doing, I was thinking of men.

Though to be fair, Ramsey, Fen, and Grey were not really men. They were daemons. Sexy-as-fuck daemons.

I sighed heavily.

Cold shower it was.

RAMSEY

The next dayI was just about to get out of my car when my phone chirped, making me pause and check the screen.

Grey.

I really didn’t want to talk to him right now, but he’d been looking into the bank cabal I’d tasked us with taking down and he might have found something.

Sighing, I tapped the screen, putting him on speaker. “Ramsey here, go.”

“Thought you’d want to know, Premier Bank is owned by a daemon.” Grey’s voice was just a little tinny. It made him sound small. I liked it better this way. Still, this news wasn’t good.

“Who?”

“Mammon. And I think there’s another daemon working with him, but I’ll need to do more digging.”

“Fuck.” Mammon was a prince like us, but — as much as I hated to admit it — far more powerful. The only thing keeping him from being a god by our definitions was his lack of aspects. Gods had more than two, but Mammon still only had wealth and greed. His strength came from his age. He was over ten thousand years old, and he knew every trick in the book. Hell, he’d practicallywrittenthe book.

“Indeed. That may change our plans a little. We’ll have to be careful,” Grey said stoically.

I rolled my eyes at him even though he couldn’t see me. He wasalwayscareful. “Keep digging and see if you can find who the other daemon is.”

“Will do,” he said then he hung up.

I brushed a hand through my hair and sighed. That wasn’t what I’d wanted to hear today. Hopefully, my next stop would be a bit more inviting.

Swinging the scissor door of my Lamborghini up, I slid out and made my way up the steps to Ana’s house where I knocked on the heavy wooden door and waited.

There was no way I was going to take my time with Ana, and I didn’t give a fuck about Harmonia’s rules. It was clear Fen was hot for her, and Grey had been just a little too anxious to get her to himself last night. No way was I going to play it safe.

The door opened and an aging, grey-haired man peeked out. “Yes?”

“Is Ana home? I’d like to speak to her.”

“Ana? Oh yes, yes. My niece, nice girl.” The man blinked up at me with a grin.

“Can I speak to her?”

“Speak to who?”

“Ana.”

“My niece? Yes, she’s a nice girl.”
