Page 48 of His Obsession

I struggled to break my arms free, pulling and straining, until I thought my elbows would pull free from their sockets. My screams scratched at my throat, and tears flooded my eyes, spilling out onto my face. "I don't want to be here anymore," I cried, my body sagging and no longer fighting him.

“You don't have a choice. If you go back home, you are as good as dead, and I can’t let that happen,” Alek growled. Releasing my arms from his grasp, he stood up and backed away. I refused to move or look at him as the tears ran into my clean hair. “I'm sorry, I wish it was different.”

"Go away," I said, sniffling.

Without a word, the door slammed shut, jolting my body with shock.

I got up from the bed, violence zipping through my body, insisting on being freed. I’d never felt the desire to punch someone or something before until now. I snatched my bag from the floor. My toes stepped on the strap, causing it to pull out of my fist. I bent down to pick it up again, losing my balance and stumbling onto my hands and knees.

Frustration bled into a frenzied rage, and I lashed out the only way I knew how. Standing, I ground my teeth and grabbed the top of the dresser, toppling it over. It crashed with a loud thud at my feet. I felt the power run through my shaking hands as the adrenaline picked up—I felt invincible like I could capsize the world and enjoy every moment.

I picked up the lamp on the bedside and threw it at the TV, shattering the screen into a million spiderwebs. I grabbed what was left of the lamp and hit the screen repeatedly until chunks of tempered glass fell to the ground. The pent-up emotions and feelings over the week—and probably my lifetime—released in one cataclysmic event of destruction.

High-pitched screams left my body as I threw the chair towards the window overlooking the pool. The chair broke into pieces, leaving the window fully intact as if nothing ever disturbed it. I took the wooden leg to the bathroom mirror, shattering the one thing that would never lie, that would always tell me the truth even when I didn’t want it. I hit it repeatedly until someone yanked the leg from my hands and my feet left the ground.

Alek’s arm squeezed my waist while I kicked and screamed for him to release me. I wrapped my hands around the door frame as he tried to drag me down the hall, holding onto it like a lifeline. I desperately needed a lifeline. I no longer had control, I felt like a separate being watching my body fight with no way to stop it.Did I want it to stop?

Randall pried my fingers from the door-jam, and I moved to dig my claws into Alek’s arm as my feet left the floor.

"Let me go!" I screamed. I had taken that irrevocable step towards the psych-ward, and it was too late to go back now.

I contorted, attempting to escape his powerful arms when I noticed blood beading on his flawless tattoos, and I dug my nails in deeper—trying to pry the clock face from his skin. Alek roared, and my body flew through the air, landing on a soft bouncing surface. I scrambled off, falling onto the floor with athunk,my head snapping back, hitting the hard floor. Spots clouded my vision as I tried to orient myself and gather my bearings. Where was I? Where did they take me?

Large hands grabbed my hips and hauled me back onto the bed that I now recognized as Alek’s—the one we had just had sex on. Hands took hold of my feet while another pair grabbed my wrists, binding them down to the bed.

"Stop, Liz. We are only trying to help you," Randall shouted above me.

He pulled at chains, cuffing my hands to the bed frame, while Alek sat on my legs, holding me in place.Aim for the vulnerable spots,I remember Jake telling me as Randall moved around the side of the bed towards my feet.

“I don’t want your help. Get off me!” I said, struggling.

Randall attached one ankle to the cuffs, and Alek moved off with a false sense of security. Now was my time to strike. Flailing my leg with no mission other than inflicting pain, I kicked Alek in the chest, causing him to topple off the bed backward and landed with a grunt.

“I can’tbelieveI let you fuck me!” I yelled with disgust.

Randall body-slammed my legs, pinning me to the bed while Alek composed himself and finished cuffing my ankle.

“You guys had sex?” Randall asked as his eyes land on Alek.

“Later, Tonk,” Alek barked.

“Yeah, later,Tonk. He’ll tell you all the dirty details. Like how he came all over my ass,” I said. “Maybe he’ll show you the pictures later.”

I tugged on my wrist cuffs, feeling the metal bite into my skin.

“That’s enough!” Alek roared.

“Or what?”

"You are so infuriating. If you can’t act like the adult, you supposedly are, then you will stay here. Chained to my bed. Alone," he said.

My heart tried to escape my chest when I heard that magic word.Alone. I couldn’t be alone. What would happen to me?

"Randall, release me.Please. Don't let him do this to me," I pleaded.

My chest heaved, I couldn’t catch my breath, the fight took my energy, and I had nothing left to give—and what did it get me? Nothing.

“Don’t leave me here, please.” I cried as they turned to leave the room. “Please, Alek,” I wailed, “I’m sorry. Don’t leave me alone.”
