I smile, but don’t say anything. When we get to a door, she puts her hand on the doorknob, ready to check it out.
“Hey, about what happened at the cabins. We haven’t really talked about it and I want to clear things up.”
Violet faces me, her green eyes meeting mine. “Dex.”
She’s never allowed me time to explain myself. There were a few times where we ended up alone after that night in the cabin, but she refused to touch the topic. I’m starting to think she’s letting me down easy by making sure she doesn’t have to explicitly say she’s not into me.
“Please. I’ve been wanting to talk about it.”
“Talk about what?” Renzo asks, walking up behind us. “This your room, Vi?”
“I haven’t looked inside yet, but maybe.”
And just like that, our moment to talk about what happened all those months ago is put on hold.
