I reach over his muscled forearm and grab a random shot glass, tossing it back and swallowing the contents.

“Oh shit,” I say, making a face as I put the glass down. “What the fuck was that?”

They both laugh at me. “I don’t fuckin’ know. I mixed some shit for some of these.”

“Ugh. Disgusting.” I grab a plastic cup and fill it up from the keg.

Holding several shot glasses in his large hands, he struts out of the kitchen, yelling, “Game time! Time to get fucked up!”

I shake my head and lean against the counter next to Trevor. “What’s up with you? You don’t look drunk yet, and usually you’re the first one.”

“Trying not to make too many bad decisions,” he says with a short chuckle.

“Now that I think about it, you haven’t been super drunk since your party like six months ago. When you were making out with those three girls, remember?”

He groans. “Yeah, see, stupid decisions.”

“It’s stupid to makeout with three girls in one night? Damn, then I’ve definitely been stupid too many times to count,” I say with a laugh.

“The weekend before then I was also stupid drunk and did something I...well, I don’t regret it, but, never mind.” He shakes his head. “I’m gonna drink, but not too much.”

My brows pull together, confused. “Violet’s right, we do have too many secrets between us.”

“What’re you talking about?” he asks, his eyes zeroing in on me.

“Just that we all have secrets. You said it yourself at the creep motel. Me and her, Ronan and Zo at first, and apparently you.”

He sighs, looking around the room before meeting my gaze again. Trevor opens his mouth like he’s about to reveal his secret to me, but before he can say anything, Renzo jumps in front of us.

“I think Ronan’s already getting wasted,” he says with a grin.

I spot his slightly reddened eyes and stupid smile. “I don’t think he’s the only one. Am I gonna have to watch both of you tonight?”

He waves me off. “I’m hardly drunk. Not even tipsy yet, but I’ll be fine before we have to leave. Plus, Vi will be here and can drive us home, or I’ll get an Uber. Don’t worry about us.”

I shake my head. “Okay.”

“Trevor get the fuck in here. You poured some of these shots,” Jayden yells.

“Fuck. Wish me luck,” he mutters before walking off.

“He said he’s not trying to get too wasted because he makes stupid decisions.”

Renzo snorts, rolling his eyes. “That fucking guy. More like life changing decisions.”

I cock my head. “What do you know?”

He gives me a mischievous grin, his eyes low and hooded. “Nothing.”

“Life changing?” I murmur, mostly to myself. “I hate not knowing things.”

“I’ll be back,” he says before taking off.

I take a sip of my beer and set out to find people I know. I have no idea when Violet’s gonna show up. All she said was that she’d be coming with her friend Scarlet. But I find myself searching the room every few minutes to see if she’s arrived.

Jayden eventually peer pressures me into playing his stupid game, but this time, I get lucky and get a regular shot of some sweet flavored vodka that doesn’t taste too bad.

Later, as I’m outside on the porch talking to one of my friends who’s taking a smoke break, arms slither around my waist from behind, making me jump in surprise. When I spin around, I see that it’s Chelsea.
