With the nurses busy gossiping in the communal room, the office is left unattended. One guard is currently preoccupied with his phone, and the other one is making the rounds of the rest of the building.

Taking advantage of the distraction, I sneak into the office. One of the computers is still logged in, and I quickly find the contact information for Agent Holbrook, by logging into the cloud I’ve saved my phone contacts to. Using the office phone I quickly dial his number.

“Hello?” he asks.

“Holbrook, it’s Sin. I’m hoping you can track my location from this number.”

“Are you all right? I’ve spoken to Ford, but he said you weren’t in immediate danger,” he speaks in a rush.

“Look, I don’t have a lot of time. I take it you haven’t seen the news?”

“No,” he confirms. “I’ve been working the case all day.”

“My biological father had me drugged and locked in a mental facility. I’m not sure where. He isn’t going to let me out until I sign annulment papers.”

“I’ll find you. Sit tight, and don’t kill anyone,” he demands.

“That’s a big ask. My list is growing daily. I won’t give Raven up.”

“Nor should you have to.” I hear the sound of keys clacking on a keyboard. “I’ve got your location. Lucky for you I’m not far away. When I heard from Ford I got on a plane for Chicago just in case. I’m still going to want your help bringing Blackthorne down.”

“He shot Ted right in front of me. I’m more committed than before. Jess is dead,” I tell him.

“I was afraid of that. Her parents have filed a missing person report.”

“They’ll never find her body. I saw it, though, and I’ll testify to that.”

“Not until we have everything. I want to bury that mother fucker.”

Footsteps thud down the hallway. “I’ve got to go. I had to sneak into the office to call you.”

“Be safe. I’m going to grab a couple agents I trust implicitly and come get you out.”

I hang up the phone and log out of my cloud server. The guard is still playing a game on his phone, and I manage to exit the office without being seen.

The wait is painful. In order to prevent being locked in my room I join a game of Monopoly being set up by a couple of other patients. I could have joined the poker game that would have been more interesting, but Monopoly takes forever to play, thus delaying the return to my room longer.

After two hours the staff starts to hand out medications. A small, white paper cup is handed to me. Last night I was still unconscious thanks to whatever I was injected with. I’m not sure why I hadn’t thought they’d medicate me while I am here.

“What is this?” I ask.

“Something to help you sleep,” one of the gossiping nurses tells me.

“I don’t need this,” I say, and push the pills away.

“I’m sorry, but you need to take your prescriptions to get better,” she says and places it back in front of me.

“There’s nothing wrong with me,” I snap.

A commotion at the door distracts her. “What is that noise?” she asks the guard.

He doesn’t get a chance to answer as a loud pounding on the door prompts him to move. “I’m Agent Holbrook with the FBI. I’ve got a warrant to enter this facility and retrieve Jackson Sinclair. Open the door immediately or it will be breached.”

“I’m going to call Dr. North,” the nurse says and runs for the office.

The guard doesn’t move, but the pounding grows louder, and I realize this time it’s a battering ram not fists. A few hard hits, and the door bursts open.

“You can’t just come in here!” the nurse shouts.
