"Ha, ha, ha," Drevi laughs dryly before turning his attention to me, "What ride do you want to go on first? I have a list if you would like to pick from them?"
He holds up his phone for me to take, so I do. My eyes start to scan the little screen while he starts to point and tell meabout the different rides. The tram jerks to a stop and the phone almost smacks me in the face, "Do they not know how to stop this thing? Would we be better served to walk?"
Pyro speaks up, "It's a little bit of a walk to where we are headed. Just relax and we will be to the most magical place on earth in no time."
"You are taking me to Hecate's island? She hates me, why are we going there?" I gasp, trying to control my breathing. I have my brother Zeus to thank for that since he can't keep his pants on or up and it fucks it up for all of us. There aren't many that scare me, but Hecate does.
The tram starts up again and Pyro must be able to tell my anxiety is rising because he caresses my face with a few fingers and his tone is light. "No, my love. That's what Disney is called, the most magical place on earth. If there are any Greek gods or demi-gods here, I'm sure it is just a coincidence."
"Oh, good," I manage. "Drevi, why don't we start at the front of the park and work our way back? Can we even do it the other way around? Maybe the rides in the back are less busy? As long as we get to go on the rides you want to experience, I'm good with anything."
Once the words exit my lips, the others groan. "I wish you wouldn't have said that," War complains.
"What? Why?"
"You just left him in charge of the whole day and he's going to get a big head about it," Frank tells me.
"Not my sweet Drevi, I don't believe you would talk ill of him like that." I laugh.
The tram stops and we are in front of a giant cartoon mouse painted in the grass.
"Do these people worship a mouse?" I ask, my mouth falling open. In all my years when I walked this earth, thetemples to my brothers and their children were torn down and they have been replaced with this? It's unbelievable to me.
Frank steps up to my left side, "Well, some may, but it's more of an obsession than worship. People are crazy for what Disney created and being here helps them live a dream. Ain't that right, Drevi?"
Drevi slinks up next to me, his head down and cheeks flush.
I hook a finger under his chin and pull his face up until he is looking me in the eyes. "Don't you ever be embarrassed or ashamed of something you enjoy. I'm honored that you would share this side of you with me. Your brothers only tease you because they know it gets to you. Now, tell me more about this Disney and what ride we are going to go on first?"
The light dances in his eyes once more and his words are coming out about thirty miles a minute. It's hard for me to keep up.
“Take a breath, I think you are turning blue,” Frank comments.
“I’m the only one that’s blue,” I say.
The guys laugh.
War sees the confusion on my face, and takes my hand again. “It’s an expression. He isn’t really turning blue, it’s just something people say when you hold your breath or speak without breathing.”
I nod, I understand now.Humans and their sayings are just strange. Can’t they say what they mean?
“There are a few rides I, for sure, want to go on,” Drevi says, pulling out a map. “We are here, so the closest one is the Haunted Mansion. Let’s head this way.”
There are more people here than in the Elysium fields milling around. I don’t know why they have brought me here. They know human men act a little insane when I’m around. Idon’t want them morphing into the horsemen at this seemingly happy place.
We silently follow Drevi as I notice more and more eyes scanning my men and I.
Stepping closer to Frank, I whisper, “Why are they staring at us?”
“One, you’re hot. Or two, it’s the matching shirts we are wearing. I don’t know of many women that have four men.”
“Oh, that’s all? I was worried there was something on my face.” I wink.
He gives me that million-dollar smile back and, if he hadn’t wrapped his arm around my waist, I’d be a puddle on the sidewalk. How did I get so lucky?
“How far is the first ride?” Pryo asks.
“We should start seeing the mansion any minute,” Drevi replies, not stopping or slowing his steps.
