“As much as I’d love to fuck you into oblivion all day, we should get back to the war room.”

PLAYLIST: GOD OF A GIRL – GEORGI KAY

Holy crap shit.Whatever just happened, she had never, ever, had sex like this before. Not even in her fantasies. She had never taken control of a man, nor used him for her pleasure. It was an exhilarating rush of power. And he, of all people, had let her. He even got off on it. Whatever high she was on with him, ebbed away the moment he had mentioned the war room.

Now that her mind realized what they just did, a heavy stone appeared in her stomach, spreading a wave of regret and mortification through her while everything in her seemed to hurt like shit, especially her leg.

“We should. Only they’ll all know.”

“They’ll know and they’ll see,” chuckled Deis. “Not that I care.”

“But I do. What are they going to think of me?” she asked while stepping back under the water and getting herself cleaned up.

“They won’t think anything. You are my queen.”

“Sure they got that memo? What if they think I’m just one of your hunted damsels in distress?”

“They know you are not, believe me.”

And as the hot water ran down her face and body, her mind started to work again, thoughts racing through her mind like a herd of buffalos.

Deis saw me kill my father. My father killed his family and him almost too. Fucking crap shit.

My father was Richard DeBarra’s hitman.

Why the hell did I never know?

Deis’ hands wandered around her and moved her from under the rain shower, and she could feel the awesome sensation of shower gel transforming into foam on her body. His hands trailing over her, to her small curves, over her breasts, her arms, and he even kneeled down to wash her legs and feet. He only spared the wounds.

When she was covered in foam, he came back up and grasped her face, kissing her so sweetly, so softly and so sensible. With the melting touch of his lips, she closed her eyes. Just for this moment, it was as if they had done it forever and this was just a typical evening. Too good to be true. Like a dream, and she would wake up in a minute.

Only it wasn’t. And when he pushed her back under the water to let her rinse clean, their kiss ended, and she had to face reality, dream or no dream.

As they went out of the shower, he got her a towel and wrapped her in it.

“You know, I can do that by myself, yes?”

“I do, but you need to learn that I take care of you.”

A big chunk of her wanted to protest; she was, after all, independent. And then there was the part that longed her whole life to be taken care of, for letting herself fall into the touch and presence of a man.

All wrapped up, she went over to the mirror.

Holy shit. They will so know.

Bite marks and the wound on her neck jumped at her, her arms still showing glowing red lines where she cut them. He stood behind her, bite marks from her on his neck. And for a moment, it was the weirdest thing, and she had to snigger.

“What’s so funny?”

“The traces of our activities.”

“Like I said, they’ll know.”

“But Julie–”
