She rolls her eyes. “Ugh. I don’t know how that ass hat is doing. And I don’t care.” She lifts her drink and takes a long drink.

I immediately feel bad for mentioning him. “Shit,” I say. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”

She shrugs. “No way you could have. Don’t feel bad. I’m just glad he stopped wasting my time.”

I get the feeling the subject is a sore one for Mya, no matter how she seems to be trying to convince me otherwise. Whatever happened between her and Zach clearly upset her. I decide not to bring it up again.

“What’s your book about?” I ask.

Her mouth twitches into a half-smile. “Smooth transition,” she says drily. She laughs and I join in.

“I didn’t know what else to say,” I say. “I panicked.”

“Listen,” Mya says. “I’m good. Really. Tonight is about Hannah, not me. So, let’s celebrate her.”

I nod. “You’re right.” I raise my glass high. “To Hannah and Finn!” I shout loudly. The others all raise their glasses and take a drink.

Hannah plants a kiss on Finn that makes me feel mildly uncomfortable and I have to look away.

“That,” she says, pushing a finger into his chest, “is to help you remember what you have at home, Mr. King.”

She tries to walk away, but he snags her wrist and pulls her against him, wrapping his arms around her. The bar erupts in loud cheers and cat calls.

“Well, soon-to-be-Mrs. King, I know how lucky I am. I don’t need a reminder,” Finn says, before kissing her again. When he finishes, he leans over and whispers something in her ear. Judging by the expression on Hannah’s face, I’m glad I can’t hear the words, though I think I get the gist.

“Okay, okay,” Quinn says, pulling Hannah away from Finn. “As precious as all of this is, we’re on a tight schedule. Tonight is about your girls, Hannah Banana. Not the man you’re about to be chained to, forever-more.”

“Hey!” Ronan says. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

Quinn winks at him. “I like being chained to you.”

“I’ll remember to bring chains later,” he murmurs.

I plug my ears. “Ew!” I shout. “Save it for the honeymoon. All of you!”

Garrett surprises me by pulling me to him for a kiss. It’s the most openly affectionate he’s been with me in front of my family, and it catches me off-guard. I freeze for a moment before I kiss him back, fisting my hands in his shirt. I’m so caught up in the feel of his lips on mine that I nearly forget where I am.

“Alright, alright,” Ronan says. “Enough of that.”

Garrett and I break apart. I laugh and stick my tongue out at my brother. “You started it.”

Before Ronan can form a retort, Mya speaks up.

“Enough of the PDA shit,” she says. “Let’s party, ladies.”

She grabs Hannah by the hand. Hannah reaches out and snags Hope’s hand as she’s pulled along behind Mya. Hope grabs Quinn who grabs my hand. Soon, we’re all being towed toward the door, Mya taking the lead. I’m last in the chain and I wave back at the men.

“Bye, boys! Be good!”

“Never!” Wyatt shouts, making me laugh.

“You better be!” Hope yells just before she’s pulled out the door.

Once we’re in the party bus, Quinn reaches into a bag and starts distributing items to everyone. Hannah gets a sash declaring her the Bride-to-be while the rest of us get bridal party sashes. Quinn’s says, ‘Maid of Honor’. She follows it all up with a sparkly tiara that she places on Hannah’s head.

“No way!” Hannah objects. “I’ll look like a basic bitch wearing a tiara to my bachelorette party.”

“Too bad!” Quinn says. “As the maid of honor, this is my show and I say you wear it. Right, ladies?” She turns to the rest of us who nod.
