It was potentially life changing for both him and Katie too.
The type of idea that could mean a degree of upheaval but would be worth it if he could make it work.
But that could wait until morning.
Now it was all about snuggling up with Katie and living for the moment.
Chapter 23
Katie
Katie knew she had slept soundly when she woke up the next morning feeling as fresh as a flower.
After a quick yawn and a stretch, Katie looked across and saw that Cage was still fast asleep. And snoring loudly too…
Maybe it’s a Daddy thing?
It’s definitely kinda’ cute though.
Even if it does mean I get woken up sometimes!
Katie didn’t want to wake Cage up. She knew that Cage was over-worked as it was. The more rest he could get, the better.
Without making so much as a single sound, Katie eased herself off the bed and felt her feet touch the soft, fluffy rug under her feet.
The days of Cage’s apartment being an ultra-sleek, minimalist bachelor pad were long gone. It was far more comfortable now. Rugs, paintings, and so much more color all over the place.
Katie was happy that her influence was rubbing off on the apartment.
It truly was feeling like home.
A perfect space for a Daddy and Little to cohabit.
Katie walked through the bedroom and towards the kitchen. She had a busy morning coming up so it was a case of very quietly making herself a bowl of multi-colored fruit loop cereal and munching that down as efficiently as she could.
Katie prepared her stuffie Snug a mini bowl of cereal too. This was part of her routine, the only way she would start the day.
How could she even contemplate eating herself if her best stuffie wasn’t also getting his morning food!
Cage would tease her very gently about this. In Cage’s estimation, the only reason Katie prepared the extra bowl for Snug was so that Katie could get a few extra fruit loops for herself.
Cage may have had a point.
But there was no way that Katie was going to admit that. Not even to her Daddy. She’d even risk a paddling to keep that secret intact.
But it wasn’t just cereal that Katie needed to take on board.
She made sure to eat a banana for a potassium boost.
Then take her multi-vitamins.
Oh, and then of course she remembered to prepare a cup of warm water and lemon to ensure that her voice was as well-prepared as possible for a busy morning of recording.
Katie had been doing lots of research on how best to maintain her voice and have it as flexible and robust as possible for all of the voice work it would be doing.
This was Katie’s career now.
It was her passion too.
