“You literally just said you wouldn’t pick to have sex with her if you had a choice.”

Justice looked appalled, “I didn’t say such a thing.”

“You sort of did man.” Ellis confirmed.

The ogre came over, glaring at everyone in the proximity before he bent down close to her. “Liberty, the fates have demanded a child, with the softness of a human, the resilience of a vampire, the reflexes of a shifter, the magic of an ogre and the unity that comes with being a fairy. Are you going to deny the fates what they demand because you are too scared to give them the true ruler to which you are a proxy?”

Her whole body shook as she inhaled a deep breath, before her head pulled back from my shoulder to look at the ogre, “I’m not scared.”

“No?” He questioned and when he held his hand out, she peeled herself away from my body and transferred onto his, before she rested her head on his shoulder. “If you are not scared, then you have no reason for this fuss.”

“I can’t –“she began.

“You can. It is the fate's wish and so it will be. I’ve seen it come to play.” He brushed down her hair, “Are you ready for it?”

She shook her head no, “I don’t know how.”

“None of us do.” He leaned in and whispered in her ear, though it could still be heard, “Look at our mate. He can barely tie his shoes. Do you think he is ready for a child?” She shook her head no and honestly, the ogre wasn’t wrong. Justice was definitely a child himself at times. “That is why you have the rest of us here to protect you both. She will be the greatest thing this world has ever seen, and you can deny it, but the fates are coming, and they want their ruler.”

Chapter 12

LIBERTY

“I don’t wantto be their breeding mule.” I declared when I was alone with Michelle.

“I didn’t want to have one too many shots last night, but look at me now. I did it anyway.” She mumbled as she rubbed her forehead.

“That was by choice.” I sneered.

“You have a choice. No one is forcing you into spreading your thighs.” She countered.

And damn it, she was right. I knew them all enough to know that if I decided to not do as fate wished, I didn’t have to. Honestly, maybe I would deny the fates, maybe I wouldn’t. But the men wouldn’t force me into such a commitment, even if they believed it’s right.

“How does this work?” I threw myself down on the bed. I knew I was supposed to meet Oak and Lenin outside, knew for a fact that they were waiting to work on magic training, and still I refused to budge.

Michelle picked at her nails before bringing her finger to her lips, trying to bite off a piece of skin. I fought the urge not to cringe. “Oh. You’ll know.”

“What does that even mean?”

“Like, remember that time when we drank just a little too much, but not enough to be completely knocked out? Then made the mistake of going to that underground porn festival and they gave out all the samples, and there were all these bare chests and um. . .” She drifted off as she fanned her face, “Private showings?”

I scrunched my brows together, “Yeah? Why?”

“You will be that horny times like . . . I don’t know . . . a hundred, maybe.”

Well, damn. I couldn’t decide if I approved of this or not. Sure, I wasn’t sold on carrying the future heir of the paranormal world, but being that horny had to amount to good sex, right? Not that sex with any of these men has ever been bad. In fact, I’ve never been so fulfilled in my entire life.

Michelle sighed before turning her head toward me, “So like, all of them? You don’t feel even an itsy bit selfish? That’s a lot of beefcakes for one little lady.”

“No guilt.” I admitted as I sat up, finally considering searching out yoga pants so I could get this training done with. After all, I did come up here thirty minutes ago with the excuse that I was going to change into them. “I’ve not slept with them all.”

Her ears literally twitched as she sat up, ready to listen intently. “Well?”

“Well, what?” I pushed off the bed.

“I’m going to need the details.”

Ugh. That’s what I was afraid of. “Only the vampires.”
