Xander: "You're right. You deserve to know everything."
She turned to face him fully.
Amelia: "Then tell me. Who are you, really?"
He met her gaze, his eyes filled with a mix of sorrow and determination.
Xander: "My full name is Alexander Drakov. I'm not just any lycan—I am the heir to the Drakov lineage, one of the oldest and most powerful families among our kind."
Amelia's eyes widened.
Amelia: "Heir? What does that mean?"
Xander: "It means that I was destined to lead, to uphold traditions and laws that have governed us for centuries."
Amelia: "Then why did you leave? Why hide who you are?"
He looked out over the ocean, his voice distant.
Xander: "Because I didn't agree with the Council's ways. They cling to old doctrines, unwilling to adapt or accept change. When I met you, I realized that there was more to life than the path laid out for me."
She processed his words, trying to piece together the puzzle.
Amelia: "So the Council's pursuit of Liam—is it because of his abilities, or is there more?"
He nodded slowly.
Xander: "They see Liam as a threat to their power. As my son, he represents a new lineage that could challenge their authority."
Amelia: "Why didn't you tell me any of this before?"
He turned back to her, regret evident in his eyes.
Xander: "I wanted to protect you. The less you knew, the safer you were."
She shook her head.
Amelia: "But keeping me in the dark puts us all in danger. I can't make decisions if I don't have all the information."
Xander: "I understand that now. I'm sorry."
She took a sip of her tea, contemplating.
Amelia: "Is there anything else I should know?"
He hesitated before speaking.
Xander: "There is one more thing. The Council isn't just after Liam—they're after me as well. They want to force me back into their ranks or eliminate me if I refuse."
Her grip tightened on the mug.
Amelia: "So we're all targets."
Xander: "Yes. But I won't let anything happen to you or Liam."
She looked into his eyes, searching for sincerity.
Amelia: "I want to believe you, Xander. But trust is built on honesty."
