Page 8 of Sasquatch's Claiming

It was complete satisfaction. Like her body had been missing this.

Like it needed this.

As she lay there and thought about this Sasquatch who had just eaten her out, very hazy memories flashed through her mind of a darkened club, being absolutely scared, and then him. His warmth. She felt so completely safe with him. It was like she knew him.

“Ben?” The name came to her as she snuggled closer to him.

His finger trailed down her arm. “Yes. That’s my name. I’m glad you remembered.”

“I don’t think I fully do.”

“But you know my name. That’s a start.”

“Why do I know you? Why are you in my head?” she asked.

“We’ve met before.”

Bernadette sat up and stared at the Sasquatch in her bed. He looked so adorable, filling up her tiny queen-sized bed. Not tiny for her, but definitely for him. His knees were bent over the end, his large feet resting on the floor. His huge hands had destroyed her mattress. This was something not easily forgotten.

“Why don’t I remember?” she asked.

“A spell was placed on you by my sister-in-law.”

“Why?”

He pursed his lips together in a frown. “To protect you.”

And that had a ring of truth to it. She could feel that deep in her bones, because there was a part of her that had always known monsters and other things that go bump in thenight were very real. She thought it was anxiety caused by over protective parents, but maybe it was something more.

A shiver of dread ran down her spine and she stared out her balcony door, into the night. There was no moon, no streetlights. It was like the night was just a tad bit darker. Like something sinister was lurking, and briefly, her uncle passed through her thoughts. “What was after me tonight?”

“An evil demon,” Ben replied.

“Why did it want me?”

Ben shrugged. “Who knows. Netherworld beings make no sense.”

“Good thing you were here tonight.”

“I’m always nearby.”

She cocked her head to the side. “You are?”

“I’ve been watching over you for months. I’m not supposed to, I’m supposed to not bother you again, but I can’t let you go.”

Her heart melted a bit and she smiled. “I wish I could remember you.”

His face softened, those amber eyes losing just a little bit of their sparkle. “I wish you could too.”

“So…how many monsters are out there?”

“In this realm, many. We remain hidden through a veil. There were laws governing us and we just overthrew a tyrant. Those who live in this northern realm want to be able to coexist with humans, but we’re still working on that. It’s been a long time since we were able. My mother was human.”

That was shocking. “She was?”

“It’s very rare for a female Sasquatch to be born. We’ve had to resort to taking human brides.”

Bernadette cocked an eyebrow. “So, you kidnap them?”
