He towered over her as he stood behind her, making her feel ultra feminine. She loved the contrast they made and turned around so she was facing him. He started to move away, but she reached out and grabbed hold of his hand.

“Fenris, will you do something for me?”

“Anything.”

She smiled and batted her eyelashes at him in a flirty gesture. At least, she hoped it looked flirty and didn’t just seem like she had something stuck in her eye.

“And if I ask for something outrageous?”

“Doesn’t matter. I would do anything for you, Juliet.”

Her smile faltered, and she had to take a steadying breath to calm her racing heart. Courage, she told herself. She had to have courage to go after what she wanted. She had done it before. Had proven that she could. Now, she had the opportunity to finally have what she really wanted.

And what she wanted was him.

Chapter Seven

“Will you kissme?”

Juliet saw the surprise flash in Fenris’ dark eyes, then his gaze flared with heat.

“Gladly, my beautiful little butterfly.”

He leaned down and gently brushed his lips against hers. Although his touch was as soft as butterfly wings, it sent a spark of heat racing through her bloodstream. They both kept their eyes open, measuring each other’s reaction. She knew he was probably searching for signs of discomfort or unease, while she just wanted to keep that connection with him.

Raising up on her toes, she pressed her lips more firmly against his.

That seemed to be what he had been waiting for.

He wrapped an arm around her waist and jerked her against him. He let out a low growl as he took the kiss deeper, and the sound vibrated through his chest and against hers. Her nipples tightened in response, and she wrapped her arms around his neck to anchor herself against him.

When his tongue pushed past her lips so it could stroke against hers, she welcomed him in and met his kiss with equal fervor. The taste of him exploded on her tongue like sweet honey and sin. Tilting her head to the side, she fused their mouths together, desperately wanting more of him.

She wanted to soak him in. To breathe the same air as him.

She wanted to touch him and explore every inch of his beautiful body.

More than that, she wanted to love him forever.

She tried to get him to move, and since he wouldn’t release her, they started doing a sort of circling dance across the floor. When they were close enough, she shoved him back into thelarge reclining chair. He chuckled when he was forced to sit, then he groaned as she crawled onto him and settled herself on his lap. The couch would have been much more comfortable, but it was too damn far away.

Juliet had put on a dress like her friends had suggested, but she had disregarded Melody’s suggestion and had opted to wear panties. She couldn’t miss the hard erection pressed against her core and rocked her hips against him in a testing motion. She felt the rough abrasion of his jeans through the thin barrier of material she wore and cursed the layers of clothing keeping her from feeling his skin pressed against hers.

“Wait,” he said with a groan.

“I think we’ve waited long enough,” she panted.

Highlighting those words, she reached down and lifted his tank top over his head, baring his chest for her viewing pleasure. Dropping the material to the floor, she lifted a shaking hand and placed it on his chest. Discovering that it wasn’t just his arms that were covered with tattoos but his entire torso wasn’t surprising. But it shocked the hell out of her to see her own name scrawled across his chest.

He'd always said only a besotted fool would do such a thing, but he had clearly made the choice to place her name on his flesh. He closed his eyes and shivered as she traced the lines with her fingertip.

“When did you do this?”

He pressed her hand against his heart. “It was right before you graduated from the dance academy. You were still too young back then, but I already knew I was in love with you.”

Tears stung her eyes. “I love you, Fenris. I always have. I don’t want to wait any longer to be with you.”

Fenris felt as if his heart had literally exploded inside of his chest. Pure happiness filled him, making him feel a littlelightheaded. He stroked at the tears that had spilled down her cheeks, then ran his hand down her silky hair.
