“You won’t get away with this.”

He tosses me onto the couch. “I assure you, I will.” He leans over me, his eyes brimming with insanity. “Once you’re my bride, I can and will doanythingI want to you.”

I turn my head when he tries to kiss me. His tongue slides up my face like a dog, making me cringe. “We’ll finish where we left off four years ago.”

Bile rises in my throat. I swallow it, along with the panic that threatens to consume me. I must remain calm and try to find a way out of this.

“Shouldn’t we wait until after the ceremony?”

He leers down at my short, leather dress. “I don’t know if I can wait that long.”

Please no.

His phone rings. With a maniacal grin, he holds it up. “It’s my future mother-in-law.”

He spins around, walks toward the patio doors, and exits the house. I slump against the cushions, trying to even out my breathing.

How the hell do I get out of these restraints?

I wiggle and twist my hands, trying to loosen the ropes. As I do, my thoughts go to Stryker. He has to know I’m missing, right?

Frustration oozes from me as the ropes refuse to loosen, cutting into my wrists and making them raw.

Cole walks in the door a few beats later, a wide smile on his lips. “Guess what? Your mother is on her way so she can be a witness. Isn’t that wonderful?”

“Yeah. Just like menstrual cramps are wonderful.” Rolling my eyes, I look away, unable to stomach his face any longer.

He pounces on me, roughly grabbing my jaw and yanking it so I’m staring into his crazy green eyes. “Drop the attitude, Mallory.” A venomous smile spreads across his lips. “Or I’llmakeyou drop it.”

A sob escapes my lips. He grips harder, making me yelp.

His vile laugh fills the room, getting off on my fear and pain. “I can’t wait to fuck you in the ass and hear you scream. Watch the tears roll down your face as I tear it up.” He lowers his voice. “I’m not using any lube. I want it to hurt as much as my broken nose and jaw hurt the night you pushed me down the steps.”

I tremble, panic filling me. My wrists and ankles are bound, so I can’t fight or escape. I’m completely at his mercy.

I close my eyes and silently pray. Please let Stryker find me soon.

CHAPTER 68

Stryker

“Everyone clear on what to do?” Zayne says as we exit the golf carts and move toward the Chapmans’ house.

There’s a chorus of agreement, but I don’t say anything. My gut is screaming that my girl is in danger.

When I spot the lane, I take off, running for my life. I ignore the pain in my stomach as I sprint down the road, only caring about one thing—Mallory.

Zayne and Jaxson curse behind me, but I have a head start. I run like a cheetah on flat land because I’m used to running in the mountains.

As I reach the house, I press my back against the siding, trying to slow my breathing. Sweat rolls down my face as I creep to the window, peering through the glass.

The living room is empty.

I move to the front door, entering the code. It beeps, and I clench my jaw, waiting for a noise to indicate he knows I’m coming. But there’s only silence.

As I push the door open and step inside, Mallory screams. I sprint toward the sound.

The room turns red when I see her fighting for her life as the asshole tugs at her dress, trying to pull it off. She must have been bound, judging by the raw, red marks on her wrists.
