“I really appreciate you coming on such short notice,” I say to Zara as I hand her a drink before taking a seat on the couch.

“Oh, it’s my pleasure. It’s nice to have some grown up time.”

Bianca curls up in an armchair. “You left the twins with Dimitri, I take it?”

“Yes, and I told him if there’s an emergency he can call one of his brothers. This mama has the day off!”

Elle tucks her feet up underneath her. “How old are your twins?”

“Eight weeks,” Zara says, a blissful smile on her face. “You should all come over and visit. I wouldlovefor them to meet the newest members of the family.”

Elle’s eyes light up. I never really considered the fact that being my cousin would also mean that she would be joining the Koslov family too, and that thought makes my heart swell.

After the first round of margaritas, I’m forced to open up all of my presents.

“Oh, my god,” I choke as I pull out a white lace garter.

Elle chuckles. “Believe me, that’s not the worst thing in there.”

“Oh, I like her already,” Bianca says, and Elle grins.

Elle wasn’t kidding. It seems my cousin had way too much fun at one of the many adult stores in the city. She’s supplied me with everything from body paint to blindfolds, and I find my cheeks heating much to the amusement of the girls.

“Mikhail seems like he’s into that stuff.” Zara laughs as she eyes the handcuffs.

Bianca laughs too. “Oh, hell yeah. It’s always the quiet ones.”

Elle joins in. “That’s exactly what I was thinking!”

“I actually hate you all.” I quickly stuff the presents back into the bag, my cheeks feeling like they’re on fire.

After the second round of margaritas, we turn to a game of truth or dare, and it doesn’t take me long to realize that Zara and Bianca are out for blood.

They take this as their opportunity to grill me on all things Mikhail, and I find myself getting drunker by the second as I refuse to give away too much.

“Oh, come on, Lucia. Just give us a vague measurement.” Zara giggles.

“Has he tattooed it?” Bianca asks, her eyes widening as she glances at Zara.

“That’s two questions!” I try to scowl, but it soon turns into a grin as I sip my drink.

“Oh, my god. Is that a yes?” Elle squeals, almost spilling her margarita all over the cream couch.

“No!” I laugh. “And now you all need to take a drink because you cheated that round.”

To get them back, I dare Bianca to take a skinny dip in the pool, which I’m surprised to find she does without hesitation.

She throws open the doors to the lounge that lead out to the patio, strips off, and dive bombs into the pool.

I double over laughing at the look on Zara's face as Bianca climbs out of the pool, stark naked and dripping wet.

“Who are you and what have you done with my best friend?” she demands, looking horrified as Bianca grabs a towel off one of the sun loungers.

“I learned from the master.” She winks at me as she wraps a towel around herself, and I quickly scurry back inside before they can start hounding me with even more questions.

“We should order pizza.” Zara lies sprawled on the couch and stuffs a macaron into her mouth sighs.

“Zara,” Bianca scolds. “We have been here all of one hour, and we have all this food.”
