I groan in pain.

“We’re out of here,” he says. “This was a fucking mistake.”

“Hey, asshole!”

I feel my legs give out, realizing the guys from the bar have followed us outside.

Corbin throws me forward.

I stumble and trip over my feet and fall to the ground.

This whole things looks so bad right now.

Corbin turns to face off with the two men.

I’m tempted to call out his name but I know it won’t do a thing.

“Think it’s cool to sucker punch our friend?”

“We’re going to make your face look like hamburger meat!”

The two men are drunk and they have no clue what they’re doing.

They have no clue what’s about to happen to them…

Chapter 34

Corbin

I’m not turningmy back on these two guys. For the protection of my Katie girl.

Do you really think for a second these jerk offs are going tosafelyget her home?

I can practically read their fucking thoughts.

Looking at her in that black dress. Looking at her hips. Her legs. Looking at her perfect ass. Staring at her tits. Her chest. Then the natural beauty of her face. Her eyes. Those lips of hers.

This is what I’m fighting for. This is what I’m defending.

Fuck society and its fucking laws.

This is primal.

I refuse to hesitate too.

I move fast and slam their heads together.

They don’t even realize what just happened either. That’s how fast I move. It’s how fast I have to move. You can’t pause in prison. You fight until death or until a guard stops you.

I’m a free man now. There are no guards.

The two guys are wobbly already, reaching for one another.

I punch the guy on the right in the mouth and he falls down to his ass.

I grab the guy on the left and throw him into the brick exterior of the dive bar.

He hits hard and groans like a little bitch.
