“Busy day at the bakery?”
“Always is. What about you?”
“Meetings. Contracts. I’d rather stay home in bed with you all day.”
“Then do it,” I offer. “Cancel everything. I’ll do the same. We can—”
“You’re a tease, Kate,” Chad says with a smile as he stands up.
Chad isn’t a bad person. Not at all. He’s a good man. A hard worker. He cares.
But cancel your fucking meetings, stay here, and fuck me until I can’t walk!
Instead, Chad walks to the bathroom, stretching.
He shuts the bathroom door behind him and lets out a loud fart.
I close my eyes and pinch the bridge of my nose with my right hand.
I can still smell the scent of my pussy on my fingers.
Under my breath, I groan.
My heart secretly races.
I wonder when I’m going to hear from Corbin again.
Ironic enough itwas at the bakery where I met Chad.
He came in and ordered a black coffee and a blueberry muffin.
He didn’t catch my eye at first.
He was subtle. Smooth. Quiet.
Chad’s game was to keep showing up. The repetition thing.
It’s not a bad game to have or play. Honestly, I enjoyed it. The pursuit of it all.
Of course there was a voice in my head wondering why he kept taking so long to have anything happen.
I guess in his mind he wanted to act like the perfect gentleman.
In my mind I wanted to be treated like a dirty slut.
Opposites attract…
My finger slides against the jagged teeth where I’m supposed to pull the tinfoil to cut it. I gasp and put my finger in my mouth. I reach for a towel and move away from the counter for safety reasons.
I look at my finger and lucky for me there’s no blood.
I’ve got an order of forty-eight cupcakes being picked up soon.
No room for error right now.
I obsessively keep checking my phone.
Waiting for…something.
