“The video from last night is out there. She wanted to check on you but she said she didn’t need to because you had me.”

He laughed, shaking his head. “I’m sure she’s loving that shit.”

I arched my brow. “Are you?”

He grabbed the seat of my stool and dragged me closer until I was between his legs. “You could have come down last night.”

“And you could have come up.”

“Shit was kinda crazy in my head.”

“I know.”

“I wasn’t shutting you out…” His expression was stern and I smiled.

“I know.”

“Come with me. I want to play something for you.”

“Um, okay.” I slipped off the stool and followed him into the production part of his studio. He crossed the room and filled the chair in front of the sound board, motioning for me to join him. I settled into his lap, straddling his waist, and he leaned around me, pressing some buttons before I had his eyes on me again.

When he pressed play, the sound of an acoustic guitar danced around us and my eyes immediately shot over to the wall where he kept the one his father gave him. It wasn’t there. I found it propped in the corner before my eyes were on his again. They were unreal but also determined as his sonorous and soulful voice wrapped around me.

In the quiet corner of my restless mind,

You are the melody, harmony I find

In your laughter, I hear the sweetest song,

A symphony of love where I always belonged

With you I discovered what healing could mean

Each heartbeat a testament to what we will be

You painted my scars with colors so bold

Transforming my story from hollow to whole.

“Hollow”. The song he’d written about his father to “Whole”, a song he’d written about me.

“This is…” I got choked up.

“Yeah.”

“It’s perfect.”

He smiled sexily. “You’re perfect.”

“I’m not.”

“You are. My perfect. My muse. The only one I’ll ever fucking need.” He gripped my neck and brought my mouth to his. “Just you, Ri, that’s all I need. You good with that?”

“I think that’s a lot of pressure.”

“I think you can handle it. You like pressure.”

He lifted his hips and I groaned to agree. “Are you okay with people knowing aboutStoned Heart? It kinda ruins the image ofEccentric.”
