“Wait a second. Slim is the one who told you about Jade, right?” I question, and he rolls his eyes.
“Are you not fucking listening? Yes, that Irish prick dropped the bomb on me and handed over a box like it was a gift,” he growls, but I put my hand up, stopping his bullshit.
“That fucking cunt, Marsela, said she placed the call to the Russians, and she is the one who took ‘care of the problem’- that Jade was dead. I didn’t fucking believe a word she said because she’s a jealous cunt and will say anything to get what she wants. But Slim? Is the Irish working with the Albanians? What the fuck is happening?” I yell, and Spade shakes his head.
“I don’t fucking know. I’ve been trying to figure it out myself, not the Albanian part, but you telling me this makes me want to kill her even more now. There’s so much fucking going on right now and I’m not sure what to concentrate on first.” He says, sitting back down on the couch and I follow suit. I don’t believe any of this to be true. And I refuse too, until I see a fucking body.
After a few minutes of silence he speaks. “I got a meeting with Cyprus, you wanna roll with me?” he asks and I nod.
“Yes, brother, I’m with you. Let’s stop and see Jameson on our way back? Maybe we can do some recon and find out what happened with Jade.” His eyes light up at the idea of digging into what happened with our girl.
“I’ll fill you in on what our lovely fathers want me to do while we drive.” he says, getting back up from the couch and grabbing the envelope off the table.
“We need to get all of our cars and shit from the Academy, or pay someone to do it for us, but I want my shit in a safe place.” I say and he nods in agreement.
“We can figure that out tonight if you want. Are you in a rush to go back to the castle?” He asks with a look of disgust, and I shake my head.
“Na, I don’t want to go back there. So if I can stay here for the time being, until I can figure out what to do next, that would be great.” I say and he nods.
“Yeah, that sounds good. Let’s roll.” He says, wrapping his arm over my shoulder, pulling me along towards the front door.
I really hope I’m right and Jade is alive somewhere. I need to hold on to that hope or else I might just take her favorite gun and put a bullet in my head.

Jade will be home any second, and I hope she loves what I set up. Candles are lit, and there is a rose petal trail leading her from the front door, to where I’m waiting, naked in the jacuzzi tub in our bathroom.
Soft music playing in the background centers my nerves. I should’ve filled the tub with blood, but she deserves a normal proposal. It’s bad enough I infused my blood into the red coffin-cut diamond that centers her engagement ring, signifying our eternal love.
I had it custom made by Vasilisa Bendetti, our diamond dealer from California. It’s a beautiful cut sitting in a white gold setting with black moissanite and white diamonds surrounding it. The ring gives off a gothic but vintage style I’ve never seen before and when Vasilisa showed me this rare looking ring; I knew it was for Jade. I just hope she says yes.
A gasp echoes down the hallway of our penthouse city apartment as her heels click the marble floor, getting louder with each step she takes. My heart is beating a mile a minute as sweat begins to bead on my brow. The door opens and her beautiful emerald eyes light up as she takes in the scene.
“He’s lost so much blood. He’s coding again.” A high-pitched voice says as the scene in front of me pixelates into a bright white light. No, no. Give me back my Princess. What the fuck is going on here?
“We need to give him a blood transfusion as we operate. We need to hurry, he’s coding,” the voice says again as my mind spins and I hear the slow beeping begin to diminish. Beep…beep…beep…beeeeeppp.
Then everything is silent. Black. Nothingness.
Bright white light over my head beams down on me as I wake up with a gasp.
“Mr. Callaghan, you need to calm down. Slow your breathing. Do you know where you are?” Someone says to my right, but the light is so bright my eyes are taking longer to adjust.
“Jade, where’s Jade?” I rasp, but someone’s hand is on my shoulder, pushing me down as I thrash, needing to get to my girl.
“Son, I need you to calm down.” I hear my father’s command.
“Jade! Where is she?” I ask through gritted teeth.
“Not here. Now calm down.” He commands again, pushing me further into the bed, but I yell and continue to thrash. I will not calm down until I feel her hands on my body and hear her voice soothing my rage. All I need is her!
“Fuck you. Get me Jade. Now!” I yell, but he laughs.
“Poor little boy blue! Time to go back to sleep, my weak child.” My father whispers as a sudden rush of heat fills my veins. My eyes roll back and my body feels heavy as a lone tear falls from my eye.
