“Now, we can communicate as we ride. Let’s go gas up. Then we can head to The Mill.” He says as we make sure the earpieces work.
“Try to stay off the main roads until we gas up. We won’t make it if we have to run from the cops.” Ri says and Jade laughs.
“Yes, father.” She giggles and he clears his throat.
“It’s Daddy to you, Kitten.” He corrects her and I shake my head.
“We’re all Daddies now.” I say, speeding past Ri, spraying him with snow.
“Fuck you, Ried.” He says and I laugh harder.
“You wish, bitch.” I yell as I hear Jade laughing through the earpiece.
“The baby is mine. You all better get over that shit quick.” Jay yells and we growl.
“If you all don’t shut the fuck up about it, none of you will be a daddy. Maybe it’s Kane’s.” She taunts.
“Run that back Princess. I’m not above taking a flight and cutting that prick's dick from his body and shoving it up his ass.” Jay threatens.
“You better not have fucked him, Kitten. So help me God.” Ri states.
“I will slice a mother fucker.” I say but she doesn't admit or deny the question.
“Jadeeeee.” Ri growls as Jade continues to ride, ignoring us.
“I’m not telling you shit. Now let’s ride, assholes.” She whoops, taking off ahead of us.
“That’s going to cost you later, Siren. Just you wait.” Jay threatens and I laugh, knowing he’s being dead ass. Later, that sexy round ass of hers is going to be so red, she’s not going to be able to sit right for a week.
We fuck around until we get to the gas station. Jay goes in to pay for the gas as we fill up, grabbing us all gatorades. He comes out and hands Jade hers and she takes a long gulp.
“Damn, this is good.” She says, bringing a smile to my face. At least we know she can keep that down.I’ll mentally add that to the grocery list. I want to make sure she has everything she needs and wants if she truly is pregnant.I look over at her and she's leaning against the handlebars.
“Babygirl, you good?” I shout and she shakes her head. Dario gets to her first, wrapping his arms around her as I approach.
“What happened? Was it another vision?” I ask and she nods with tears streaming down her eyes.
“You’re not taking me to the warehouse, right? I can’t handle going in there.” She says.Fuck.
“What did you see?” I ask, bracing myself.
“We were calling someone for the kids, but she wasn’t answering. We were riding across the lakes on the snow mobiles, and when we got to the warehouse, there was blood everywhere. I walked up the stairs and saw a little girl, dead in a tub filled with water. I fell to my knees screaming for you. It hurts. It hurts so fucking bad. Tell me what that was. Was it real?” She sobs as I take her from Ri, wrapping my arms around her tightly.
“It’s real, Babygirl. I’m so sorry.” I say pulling back, sliding her sleeve up and pointing to her sunflower tattoo with an ‘H’.
“Who is that?” She asks and I take a deep breath.
“The little girl in the tub was her. Kayla’s parents had a shipment of kids that we intercepted, and Harper was one of them who didn’t speak english. She spoke in your native language, so I called you and we took care of her, along with your nephew Jaxon. What you're remembering is when we couldn’t get a hold of Bianca, who was watching the kids, and the vision is exactly what we walked in on.” I say, pulling down my hoodie and showing her my tattoo for Harper.
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.” She sings on a hiccup.
“Yes, baby. That’s the song you sang to her as we held her lifeless body.” I choke back. This is not something I wanted to relive today.
“Fuck, and Jaxon? Where is he?” She asks and I shake my head.
“That, we don’t know. Dalton was supposed to tell Jameson and he never did. Apparently Kayla is on the hunt for her son, though.” I say and she nods.
“Well, if she doesn’t find him soon, then we need to. That’s my blood, and I won’t have another trafficked kid hurt sitting on my conscious.” She spits.
