Page 32 of Three Reasons

Returning to the room once the shower is going, I take a moment to watch the two of them whispering and tracing the tattoos on each other’s flesh. I realize someone else might be jealous over that, but it's something they have in common. Gray and I will have our own thing one day. Hell, it might even be her inking me up more. Who knows? What I do know is that this is the life I’ve always wanted to have and share with my best friend.

Eli

Aweek ago, if someone had asked me my plans for Christmas, I’d have said I was spending it alone with Callan. Nothing concrete, maybe ice skating or a trip to Banff. Not falling in love with the girl of our dreams.

Now we have her, and we’re never letting her go.

After making a call early this morning, I snuck out while Callan stayed in bed with Gray, and now that I’m back, stomping the snow off my shoes, I slip back into our room.

Breakfast arrives a few minutes later, and after getting it set up, I wake Callan first before we kiss Gray awake. Starting at her ankles, we travel up her legs, bypassing her pussy and onto her stomach, past her breasts until stealing her mouth with indulgent kisses.

“Mmm, you’re cold, Eli.” Her adorable smile says she doesn’t mind.

“Had to run out.”

“It’s Christmas. Is anything even open?” She eyes me up this time, and I shrug. “Do I smell bacon?”

“Breakfast arrived a minute ago. Hungry?” She nods vigorously, jumping from bed, grabbing Callan’s discarded shirt, and darting out to where the food is laid out before we can get on our feet.

“Fast for someone so small,” Callan chuckles.

“You two kept me up most of the night!” Her screech is muffled by food.

“Is that complaining I hear?” I tease as I come up behind her.

She looks at me like I’ve lost my mind. “Not an ounce.” Shaking my head, I guide her into a chair as she dips a pancake in a pool of syrup on her plate.

As soon as her ass hits the cushion, Cal and I drop to our knees in front of her, and I pull out the ring I went to pick up. An old friend of ours owns a jewelry store a few blocks away, and he was happy to open for a few minutes this morning.

“It’s fast and soon, but neither of us has ever felt so strongly about someone before. I know love is the standard word, but I think it’s something more we share.” Immediately, her eyes well with tears.

“We didn't mean to act this quickly, but we couldn't wait for our intentions to be known, either,” Callan says. “Eli’s right, the word love isn’t strong enough, but we do. We love you, Gray, and we want to spend the rest of our lives with you.”

We can’t get anything else out before she jumps into our arms, shouting, “Yes!” over and over.

After sharing an impassioned kiss with each of us, she holds out a shaking hand for the white gold band adorned with rose gold-pronged emeralds framing the large princess-cut diamond.

“This is so beautiful.” Her admiration can’t be masked.

“I wasn’t sure if it was too traditional, but I thought the rose gold was a nice touch,” I explain.

“Despite what people think, I do like traditional, as well. I just love colour, and this is perfect. Thank you both.” Wipingaway her tears, I pull her in for another kiss, sweeping my tongue into her mouth and tasting as much of her as I can before passing her off to Callan.

When they finally separate, I make a suggestion. “There was heavy snowfall overnight, but I saw some city workers clearing the outdoor rink already. Any chance you’d be up for ice skating?”

“Yes! I love ice skating, and I haven’t done it in far too long.” Gray bounces on her toes with excitement, and Cal just nods, his eyes transfixed by our stunning fiancée.

After finishing up breakfast and getting dressed, we head down to the new outdoor community rink that opened this year. We rent some skates, grab hot chocolates, and begin the first day of the rest of our lives together.

I had no idea a tattoo appointment would lead us to our forever. No idea that the most complicated woman we’d ever met would flip our worlds upside down, but here we are. A bright future in front of us, and the woman we’ll love forever skating circles around us, stopping every few minutes to share a kiss and giggling every time we almost catch her.

This is the life we've dreamt of, and now we’ve got it.

We always thought she would run from us.

Now that we’ve given her three reasons to stay, she’s ours.

And we’re hers.
