Boss rolled his eyes before his gaze met mine again.

I wished I could have gone right over and taken his mouth that way, but I stilled the impulse and watched the show as he removed his clothes, not trying to pretend I wasn’t watching him.

Boss…or Aiden, as I’d seen on his ID way back when we’d begun. I couldn’t deny I liked that name a hell of a lot better, but I didn’t dare call him by it. Still, it didn’t keep me from imagining it sometimes in the place of Boss when I said it.

Whatever. He was sexy. We had chemistry. And as much as we all might have been liars about wanting to be a part of something like King’s fucked-up world from the get-go, I wasn’t lying to myself about being attracted to Aiden.

He opened the closet door and put his clothes in his designated cubby. I tossed him my phone to put in mine, and then we all found our places at the foot of the bed, taking a knee, awaiting King’s arrival.

Rule Two: Bow and kneel before the King at his request.

His request was for us to kneel before he entered the room, before our sessions began, as a sign of our respect to our ruler.

The sound of the door opening announced his arrival, and I kept my head bowed as I heard him undressing, his clothes dropping to the floor before he opened the closet and discarded them with ours.

We waited for him to take his place on the end of the bed.

“You may rise,” he said, and we obeyed.

His knights.

The cocks at his beck and call.

King leaned back, his palms pressed into the mattress, his abs on full display, his nuts and dick dangling just over the end of the bed.

“Our newest knight has been very good to us since he joined our ranks,” King said, his gaze meeting Boss’s.

Didn’t I know it? Boss had more than proven himself in the sessions since we’d begun.

“Another beautiful cock for my eager hole. We’ve had so many good fucks, but as the rest of you know, I have certain needs from time to time, just as I have tonight, that have to be fulfilled…and it’s time for Boss to see to those as well.”

I gulped.

I had enjoyed the time we’d shared since Boss had arrived because we hadn’t been called upon to entertain King’s darker desires. I assumed his excitement about a new member had helped set him at ease, and hoped it would for some time. Apparently, his Boss fix had settled, and it was time for him to take another hit.

I side-eyed Boss, catching his wince, surely as curious as the rest of us had been before we had come to know King…all of King…or at least as much as we could through his demands.

“Eyes on me, Two,” King ordered.

His gaze locked with mine intensely for a moment before returning to Boss.

“I’ve been struggling without it, working to do my best, but now it’s too much for me to bear, and I need my knights to protect me from this pain. Do you want to protect me, Boss?”

Boss hesitated, as he should have. “Yes.”

“It’s a grief in my soul, something deep within me,” Sy said, “and the only way I can find to quiet it involves your help. Have you ever pinched yourself to distract yourself from a disturbing thought? It’s similar, but it means you have to hurt me. Only as much as I ask for. And we have the safe word. You remember it?”

“Spade,” Boss came back with quickly.

“So if I’m not saying it, you’ll know I want it just like you’re giving it to me.”

“The marks on you,” Boss said. “Those were bruises from this?”

“Boss, I’m going to ask you once not to speak out of turn, or you won’t be invited to participate tonight.”

Boss sealed his lips.

King headed to the closet and retrieved a belt and a set of zip ties.
