I am looking over our messages now and am realizing the distance between Star and me.

Hey, how are things going?

Fine. What’s going on with you? I haven’t heard from you in a while.

The guy I was telling you about, I had sex with him.

You finally lost your virginity? Did you get a cake?

I smile and shake my head lightly.

No but I didn’t need one. That night alone was enough.

Is that a good thing or bad thing?

It’s a good thing. I like him a lot. It almost feels dangerous liking him.

Why?

Because I shouldn't, especially since Papa doesn’t like him. I feel like the more time I spend with him and the more I get to know him, my heart is closer to being in danger.

Does he feel the same way? I remember you saying something about him being afraid of his heart.

He still hasn’t talked much about that. I don’t want to push him either.

Star reads the message but doesn’t reply after a few minutes. I put my phone on my side table and lay on my back, closing my eyes.

I know liking Killian is dangerous but God, the danger feels good.

Spending time with him in the kitchen the other day was nice. It felt good to smile and hangout with him while getting to know him more.

I notice that he smiles more around me and whenever he does, I always take a picture so I can have some sort of proof that Killian De Luca can smile.

In fact, he has one of the most beautiful smiles in the world.

“You know, it’s extremely easy to get in your room.” I open my eyes and lift my head and see Killian standing in front of my bed. He’s wearing a black sweater and gray sweatpants that I always love seeing him in. “Your dad needs to get more security in your room. This is the third time I was able to sneak in.” Killian comes onto the bed, hovering over me.

I put my hands on his shoulders while he cages my head between his arms. “Well, I have you stalking me so you wouldn’t let anything happen. I don’t need guards.”

“Stalking, huh?” Killian raises an eyebrow at me.

I smile at him. “Yea, you’re always watching me, and you already know almost everything about me without me even telling you.”

Killian leans down and kisses me. “It’s because I am a good observer. I pay attention to anything that has to do with you.” Killian changes his position so that he’s lying on his back. He grabs my hand and pulls me over his lap so that I'm sitting on top of him. I rest my hands on his chest and smile down at him. “What were you doing before I came?”

“Texting one of my friends.”

“Who?” Killian asks, his expression not changing much.

“Just a friend. Don’t be jealous.”

Killian shakes his head. “Not jealous. I don’t have competition when it comes to you.”

Just to tease I say, “I don’t know. There’s a lot of good-looking guys out there.”

“Reign,” he warns but I don’t care.

I keep going because I like testing him and seeing how far his limits are.
